This review is going to be a bit long, please read if you care about your household goods.
I booked Movemate's services to shift my household goods from Mumbai to Bangalore. I raised an enquiry on movesure.in, but beware - it is their own website which promises that they will collate quotes from different providers but only Movemate will get in touch with you. Red Flag #1
They came on time and packed okay - so here you will be sort of misled to believe that their service is okay. However, the pains will start right after.
They promised to deliver my goods in 5-7 days. I contacted them on 7th day, but their sales executive's attitude was absolutely opposite compared to what it had been before they picked up my goods. In simple words - uncouth, uncivilized and disrespectful. The said executive's name is Vipin Jain, and on WhatsApp you will see his name as V J.
Anyway, he promised the goods will arrive a day late. Guess what, he committed delivery every day for next 3 days continuously but the goods never came. When I told him that he needs to respect his commitment - he became abusive and started yelling on phone. Here are few of his statements verbatim(read them like someone is screaming at you on phone):
"Transport business hai. Aap ko pata nahi hai. 10-15 din late bhi hota hai, par aap 3-4 din nahi sehan kar sakte?"
"Aap mujhe phone karke pareshaan mat karo"
"Aapne hamein pure paise nahi diye hai"
When asked for a senior's number: "Nahi hai. Jo karna hai kar lo. Malik bhi kuchh nahi kar sakta"
I had asked him to insure my goods and agreed on 3% of the total value. I never got the insurance cover note till I paid the whole amount and they delivered my goods after 11 days. But that's not the worst part. Wait for it. When they did send me the insurance certificate, my 6th sense made me call up the insurance company to recheck. And I was right! They had fudged an old policy to my name and wanted to charge for the insurance premium!. Now that is absolute fraud and unethical.
I did happen to speak to their COO as well. I think all of them are involved from top to bottom. I tried telling him about this but he wasn't interested. I tried reaching their directors on email, Linked In and more, but they just DO NOT CARE except for the money and that too as much as they can extract from you.
And the goods when they delivered, a lot of crockery was broken, But I had paid them all the money before they handed me the goods. So not much one can do.
None of the documents/quotes etc this Vipin Jain guy sent me were on email. He sent me all the documents on WhatsApp only. This is another red flag that I should have noticed.
All in all, consider following risks before you entrust them with your household goods:
Biggest and no.1: Fraud, and unethical practices.(validate all the quotes, insurance documents before you hand them your stuff on email and with the issuing authorities)
No.2: Safety of your goods. They do not handle goods with care.
No.3 Definite delays in delivery.
No.4 Absolutely unprofessional behavior and disrespectful attitude once they pick up your goods. You are better dealing with a local mawxxxxs than people like Vipin Jain, and the company supports these people.
No.5 Blackmail of your goods not being delivered unless you pay them any balance amount. They will not deliver and once you pay all - you cannot do anything even if something is broken.
And finally, if you are still thinking of entrusting them with your goods, read this review again!
P.S: Don't get misled by positive reviews on google as I fell for it. Most or all of the positive reviews are by people who have never reviewed anything at all before. Another major red flag.
