Hey, I’ve written 25 reviews! At least, I could proudly say now:) 25 Reviews... great. So, let’s start with the review, shall we?
Me and Mouthshut
Months ago, I was searching
on Google for a product. I then found a link to this website, and using the user-friendly, colourful interface, I quickly understood how to work MouthShut. As eager as ever, I quickly registered and wrote two reviews. After them, I spent some time reading other reviews - almost a month, I think. Then I decided to upload a review which I had written for school. Yes, my review on ’’Boy’’ wasn’t exactly for MouthShut.
After that, I became discouraged because nobody commented. I almost quit MouthShut, just reading other people’s reviews. But then, I started to feel a bit left out of the fun. So, I wrote my fourth review! I got many comments, and after that - well, you know everything.
So, what is MouthShut?
MouthShut is a website where people write, read, rate and discuss their views on various topics. The site was, according to my information, created by Faisal Farooqui and Aarti Kapoor. I’d like to thank them for the website. There are others, but MouthShut is one of the best, due to:
If you send a query to Member Support, it is answered very quickly.
The site is easy to understand with the simple layout.
On this site, the members are very interactive with each other.
There are many others, but then what will happen to the review if I tell all of them to you right now? Read on...
Writing reviews
Writing reviews is helpful to you and to others. To write a good review, you should RRC (see below) others’. After you understand what to put in your review, and you understand the bold and italics tags, then you can start! There is also the Pros and Cons, which you can fill in according to your needs.
Reading, Rating and Commenting
When you read a review, be sure to rate it and comment on it. This does not take more than a few minutes, and when you do this, you see other people’s writing styles. Also, from this, you are known better on the site and you make more friends.
Profile Page
The profile page shows almost everything about you that you want the world to know. Your personal stats (e.g. Birthdate, Country, City) and you can fill in the Interests and About Me fields. This allows people to know about you better. Also, you can add your picture if you want, and people can send e-mails to you.
Trust? Distrust? What’s that?
You trust a member if you like their reviews, they are friendly to you, etc. These are the reasons for choosing people for your trust list. Likewise, for your distrust list, you can add people who harass other members, or insult them, or copy. Though it might be better to just report them.
Benefits of being on MouthShut?
This is a topic poked and prodded at by many people. They want to know why should they write reviews here when they can get paid for them someplace else? MouthShut has its own benefits. Like it is much easier to make friends here than someplace else. And there are also the contests, in which you win amazing things. Also, being a Star Writer gives people a sense of confidence (or at least, I think it does).
Sometimes, on MouthShut, there are some very long arguments that go on for months/years. Well... this happens everywhere. Also, on MouthShut, there is NO SUCH THING as age limits. Everyone can write, a 2-year-old or a 120-year-old. OK, well, the writing quality of the 2-year-old might not be very excellent, but at least it is allowed!
MouthShut helps people in discovering their identity. I was a bored person myself before I came here. It is also helpful for people who aren’t very good at their spelling, grammar, punctuation - my earlier reviews were very different from my reviews now.
So, that’s my review on MouthShut. Sorry, I don’t think I’ll be able to reply to comments soon. I have a big Maths exam tomorrow, and I’m nervous. Well... see you next time!
