MouthShut Official is working closely with MouthShut.com to enhance customer satisfaction.
I have been using Mouthshut since 2002 and I would like to summarize a few good things and set of shortcomings that I would like to share them for their attention.
Good things first.
1) A neutral product and review platform which any customer can look it up with comfort and confidence before adjudicating on whether to use them or not.
2) With a few service providers teaming up with Mouthshut, it is another plus (win-win) offer for customers because when you share the comment on them it goes into the service provider's workflow and their social media team tries to set things right.
3) Recently I see a category for employers and a possibility for employees to submit reviews on them too. Perhaps this is a similar endeavor like Glassdoor in US, albeit in nascent stages but definitely a venture to be appreciated.
That said, now let us look at a few shortcomings which Mouthshut team has to look into.
1) Few people submit reviews which are just rants/one-liners. There should be a moderation team in MouthShut who can read those and correct them. If they are too short, they can hook them up as comments to sibling reviews in the same category. If they are abusive, then a take-down action on the said content has to be initiated.
2) Web pages at times becomes slow. Also after typing the full review, the page times out or because of traditional HTTP Post and if there are corporate internet gateways involved and there is an error with the whole review is lost.
For example, even this review, I am typing all again from the scratch because of a ICAP error at the ISP gateway. I would suggest Mouthshut to use jQuery Ajax or a similar RIA approach to make the pages more responsive.
Overall this is an excellent B2C review platform intending to serve and help the customers in taking a wise decision in choosing quality products and services thus ensuring a healthy marketing in the ecosystem.
