'Neath the Starred and Leafy Sky... Review on MouthShut Community Center

Let me warn you – This isn’t a review on mouthshut community centre but a review on a meet of some members of the mouthshut community, and I am going to make it as personal as possible, so if you don’t find it useful then that’s not my concern…read at your own peril (wasn’t that a very polite caveat?)...!

Yes, beneath the starred and leafy sky of Kolkata, a mouthshut-meet took place at Flurys, the famous Swiss confectionery at Park Street on the 22nd of April.

This wasn’t as big as the other meets we have read reviews of, but it was just as good as the others with four mouthshut-ians and one non-mouthshu-tian (or a potential one for sure!) –Me-me, a Dream Girl, a guy who has his name after our national flower(Lotus ofcourse!), and a Flying Star along with his Little Star who keeps fidgeting about his place a lot.

Before the meet there was a lot of confusion about the place, day and time(as usual) but then a real good organizer came to the forefront to take up all the responsibility of deciding and collecting all the members with their senses and this great organizer is none other than our very own Lotus who started the longest mail-chain(at least forty mails were typed!) in the history of mouthshut just to decide the place! So Lotus informed about almost twenty five people who reside at Kolkata about the meet and at last only four confirmed to come to the meet!And these four did keep their promise to come…

The flying star was the first one to reach the appointed place – Flurys and had been waiting for the others.Me-me arrived second with her father who soon left and then conversed in a limited sort of way to the two stars of the day (mostly about the cartoons the little star loves – he said he loves Bob the Builder, which Me-me had a opinion starts with a very weird song which goes like “Bob the builder, can we fix it? Bob the Builder, yes we can!”).Then suddenly the Dream Girl called up Me-me to ask where they were and after just a minute the Dream Girl entered the restaurant.Well it was a bit difficult to recognize her because she doesn’t at all look like her profile pic on mouthshut but looks even more cute and is just as sweet a person.Then at last came the Lotus who has no resemblance with his profile pic here on mouthshut at all, he had some little difficulty in finding the bistro and as well as locating the others.He looks far more cute and talks more than -er- Me-me had expected him to talk.He wanted some time for breathing after he took his place and in the meantime got a big “helllllloooo” from the little star with both his hands raised up.The person in limelight for Me-me was the little star who when asked to say hi to someone, raised both his hands and said a BIG “hiiiiiiiii” and a big “hellllllllllllloooooooo” and kept saying “hi” to the Lotus now and then, and who before the arrival of the Dream Girl and the Lotus, kept pointing at everyone saying that he or she might be them (including the gatekeeper and an ice-cream vendor as well!).He also gave a new and a very well-thought of name to Lotus- nitu (wasn’t that tremendously creative, I should have thought about it before).

Well the talk included talk about mouthshut, other mouthshut meets at different places of India, some hundred mouthshut members (especially Dida – you get one dairy milk apiece if you can guess whom I am talking about) and criticism of Kolkata (especially by Lotus, while flying star tried his best to defend his hometown).Me-me and to some extent the dream girl as well were loyal to mouthshut – they kept their mouths shut (okay – especially Me-me, who was wrongly accused of being shy!).The flying star had many good things to say and had a tough time trying to keep his little star in place who seemed to go by the rule “preach what can be followed” and got back to the flying star whenever he didn’t follow his own preaching, the little star even complained to his starstruck mother about the Flying star!An officially designated mouthshut T-shirt which bore the sign of all the other members the flying star ever met, was signed, many photos were taken from three different cameras brought by the Dream girl, Lotus and Flying Star and the Little Star portrayed his photography skills very well in this field as well. Lunch to munch was ordered(Me-me and the Flying star really can eat anything as long as it’s not vegetarian food!).Though the service was criticized, the food was praised well. No “dilli chillar” – ing took place here (no offence Delhittes, especially the dilli di kudiya, I am just quoting what I have heard and read – nothing more!), the Flying Star was good enough to make it a treat.A little more talking went on after that...

At last like all good thing come to an end, the Kolkata meet came to an end beneath the starred and leafy sky of Kolkata, with hopes of another meet (as usual).And then the all started towards the metro station and Me-me said her Alvida (well I hated the movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kahena, so I don’t really care following the rule they set!) to the others…

Some inside information**:

Lotus: If you had ever had any kind of online conversation with him, then he (like me-me) isn't really anything like his online self!

Flying Star: Perfectly matches his online self and is very knowledgeable...or atleast I thought so!

Dream Girl : Looks tremendously cute...cute is the word that describes her...talks cute, looks cute, behaves cute and everything about her is all cute, cute and cute!

Little Star : You would't want to miss meeting him for anything in the world...he is simply too cute to be talked about here.His "hiii"s and "hello"s are even better and someday he will make another flying star for sure...
