Motherhood hospital means daylight robbery. I have spent 25 lacs on my baby(preterm) here for over a period of 4 months, and then my baby was referred to Manipal as they couldn’t cure him and they realised it after 4 months of admission. Shobha and Asha who will treat you with sugar coated words at the start, but they don’t show any courtesy thereafter.
Coming to the billing part:
Same ABG test was billed at 828 initially and suddenly it was billed at 920 rs and the count of tests they had put on the higher side. I asked for the reports for each test as there were discrepancies in the counts, then they made it to the actual count. Bill is attached.
Nebuliser service charges they put around 30k in total and respules were charged extra, while the nebuliser machine it costs 1299 which I bought later from Amazon. And when you question the cost they said it’s the service charge that nurse did nebulisation, while they are already quoting nursing charges separately in the bill. The further fun fact is my wife only did the nebulisation part, the nurse just demonstrated it in starting.
They will charge from patient for physiotherapist and ROP doctors/screening at 1100/1800 each but when you deal directly with them, the charge is 600 rs. And what to say about that ROP doctor Jyotsna, she is playing with kid’s eyes for money, don’t even consult her. She said my baby needs immediate laser and will lose peripheral vision as he is in stage 3, next day we took a second opinion from Narayana Nethralaya and found out that he is still in stage 2 and doesn’t need any laser.
In motherhood, doctors boast about their studies in UK, but do not know how to talk to parents. They wasted our 2 months by coining different terms which we got to know from them at a later stage were actually irrelevant. Treatments were delayed, they do not accept the feedbacks, we asked for a pulmonologist and ENT doctors visit and it took more than 1 month for them to accept and arrange for them.
We used to beg for the main doctor to visit the child once a day, as any other doctor would tell us a different story and had a different plan. He asked us to get a nurse from outside and shared an agent number, but as I didn’t get the nurse through him and arranged myself, he questioned me the next day who asked you to get a nurse from outside. Their religion is only looting parents.
Manipal, on the other hand, has much better facilities and excellent doctors and staff in lesser rates. It’s better to visit any multi-speciality hospital like Aster or Manipal, instead of getting trapped here.
Positive words only for Dr. Latha, Dr. Prasanna, Dr. Prashant and sister Shailja and the whole NICU staff.
