I curse the day I took a Santro Xing car from Modi Hyundai - Thane. The service they provide is pathetic. Its been 3.5 yrs since I brought from them and they still feel I dont know anything about car. I had two years warranty from Modi hence any problem was rectified by them with that disgruntled look. But once the warranty period expired, I was coaxed into going for an AMC with Hyundai.
Knowing Modi's notorious reputation, I carefully checked into what services would be provided by Modi in AMC. But I was unaware that they are one hand up in fleecing customers. I spent Rs 5500/- for 4 services which included 2 wheel aligment & balancing and 2 oil changes. After every service I was charged on some reason or the other and ended up paying on an avg Rs 1000/- so the total cost of car maintenance came around to Rs 9000/-even after having an AMC.
What cheats. they used to charge me for almost everything they touched during the service. Modi hyundai did not have the courtsey of informing that they have an option of extending warranty for another 2 years which after 1st year AMC I was told. Recently the last servcie the service executive told me that the front suspensions have gone bad due to wear & tear and also the AC is not fucntioning since there is a seal leakage from compressor which combined is going to cost me atleast 10K. This could have been saved had I got the extended warranty. Now I am due for renewing the AMC and in two minds whether I should continue with Modi or look for a nearby locan service provider.
