How could this be so flat on action ? Wasn't able to digest what producers were up to ? What they had planned ? Was it the director you should blame ? Or probably the stunt co-ordinator ? Or script ? Or may be my super expectations ? Still striving for the answer ! Anyways, guys, to be very frank upfront, despite me being a series lover and a cruise fan I wanna say that its not good actionwise ( which I expected a lot ) though extremely beautifully shot and fast paced watchable thriller with popcorns. First one was ultimate, second was inferior and this one is somewhat comparative. Still though, these viewpoints may be the end results of my expectations, let me put it as it is in front of you to decide on your own. Yeah, I know, will not spoil the suspense part for you to actually enjoy it when you are in. ( if at all you decide to ).

This time around Ethan Hunt is on a personal cum official mission. Script writers seem to be confused enough how to mix the two. And what we have is a battle to rescue his fiancee from bad guys with some stupid Rabit's Foot recovery plot plugged in. Don't ask me what is Rabbit's Foot(RF), even the script writer never disclosed the same. It was something in a briefcase required for something and was the reason of clash between Ethan and his counterpart Davian, its worth $850 million ! After the starting sequence where Ethan and his Fiancee are tortured by Davian and he asks Ethan to tell him where the hell RF is, the movie goes back to show why the couple are here and in this situation. Guys, Ethan is getting married this time around and for the sake he is training IMF agents and is not willing for a mission atleast not before his honeymoon.

But as luck plays it, one of his trained agents gone missing while on mission in Berlin. He's been recalled to find her. We have a bullet n bombing session and then a helicopter chase, alas all in vain, she died. The action sequence was good but more was expected as per the series' legacy. Also cameraman should understand that shrieking the camera to show blasts and moving it too fast across the frames is less fun, more headache and ultimately a poor visual experience. But this has been done throughout in almost all the action sequences. One more thing, Ethan actually rescued her but she died because of an implanted detonator in her brain by Davian. Cool gadgetory, hallmark of this series so far is again been lived up to the expectations. So now once she's dead Ethan wants to be on the mission to trace Davian and get him. Remember Die Another Day, bond escape and went to mission against his organisation's orders to regain his dignity, here Ethan is going for the mission against his senior's will, supported by 3 of his collegues though.

So now its all about to get Davian and Ethan got him, a good sequence again with the use of hi-tech gadgets which were too good and atleast believable ! Then there is a sequence on bridge where Davian is rescued from the IMF team. Few missile fires and bulletshots. By the way, Davian is been rescued but the briefcase with RF is with Ethan. So now Davian is trying to get it back and in the process kidnaps Ethan's fiancee and thereatens to kill her within 48 hrs. Now Ethan seeks her back and the movie goes on. No MI film is complete without a rope sequence, recall the previous two, so is here again a rope sequence, smaller than previous ones and way too fast but the trick was different. There are run chases, clashes, clue findings, arrest and runaway all in between with the deadline to report ticking over. Finally Ethan is there in front of Davian and then we come back to start where he and his fiancee are getting tortured. Check it out what happens afterwards ........

As I said earlier legacy stuff has been retained, there is a rope sequence, there is deception from the unexpected front, movie is lightening fast and Tom Cruise is too good. Supporting cast also acted wonderfully. New to the series is a newly composed MI theme and also the inclusion of humor and punchlines. Watch out for: "What you are so happy about ?". The most disappointing thing was lack of super stunts and blasts. Then we may criticise the script and the storyline that takes us nowhere. Direction is okay from 'The Lost' series fame Abrams. A little bit more of story telling could had been better, there are a few questions pending unanswered. But one thing I can assure you is that there will be not even a single instance when adernaline thrust is low. Overall its a fast to catch and reason with edge of the seat, heart pounding mystery ride that is somewhat low on stunts and action.

In the end, don't miss if you are already following the series and go if you are new to MI world. So overall grab a ticket today.
