MIOT is a pure money milking group of dacoits in the disguise of doctors. The sole objective of theirs is to keep patients sick or cause new problems until the patient spends everything they can dearly afford.

But they are clever enough to trick you into believing they care. My mother was taken there for advanced colorectal cancer with liver metastasis. We first approached the radiation oncology head who advised a surgery to remove the tumor at first (though his talking was insensitive - he said coolly that she should be taking chemotherapy 'till she dies', giving a hint they had no clue or intention to help her).

But the surgery being the first, it was very well done with no complications by the two surgical oncology doctors, who even removed more of the tumors than they had initially planned after seeing the PET scan.

Then returning to the radiation oncology head he directed us towards medical oncology for chemotherapy of 6 cycles. This is when MIOT showed their true nature. The medical oncologist sees like 20-30 patients a day and mundanely prescribes folfox or other drugs and does not give satisfactory answers to simple questions and just says "let us see after administering". Before the first cycle itself, he suggested some genetic tests which cost 70, 000 and in our anxiety we paid for it. During the first-cycle, our mother was fine and healthy. But the blood test showed no improvement, so he gave an anti-egfr drug panitumumab about which he lied that it has no side effects. It also costs 1, 50, 000 per sitting and we had no idea how we manage yet we agreed. Still, he did not properly explain how the drug helps or whether it will lower the cancer burden. After administering it, he also recklessly reduced the cycle gap to 2 weeks instead of 3 and changed the plan to 12 cycles from 6 (he did not even inform us in person we saw it from the discharge summary). Through the middle of 2nd cycle, the mother developed common chemotherapy side effects like diarrhea, nausea, and severe IBS. Still, he administered 3rd cycle including panitumumab for two weeks. While this panitumumab had succeeded in lowering the disease burden as seen from a blood test after the 3rd cycle side effects became so bad mother could not even drink water without severe burning and pain. Over 2-3 days she became dehydrated and undernourished and suddenly fainted in the bathroom for 8 whole minutes.

After admitting, the next day we were informed her left lower left extremity was paralyzed (a word used by the medical oncologist). After Doppler ultrasounds, we suddenly received a call saying above-knee amputation was needed, from the most inhuman doctor alive on earth - from the in-charge of trauma care counseling office. For even such extreme things this trauma care doctor refused to show us the Doppler report. Then she said we can meet the plastic surgeon the next morning. The plastic surgeon however had a good approach and showed sensitivity towards us and explained that she has femoral and popliteal artery thrombosis and bypass can't be done due to cancer. But he said amputation also is a tough decision to make and said refusing amputation is very understandable and explained the risks associated with refusing it.

We refused amputation, and now 2 months later the left leg has an embolism, developed wet infected gangrene, and needs to be amputated anyway.

The reason I am saying all this is, the complete clueless management and negligence of the medical oncologist has completely ruined all our lives. He lies that 1% of cancer patients get this problem and doesn't admit that he panitumumab side effect from us. Panitumumab side effect thrombosis can be seen in this research article (https://google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://annalsofoncology.org/a

C&usg=AOvVaw3Ak7aAiulsLZGOWt-V-55b)

If we layman can find it, surely a Ph.D. in oncology knows it. He lied and ruined us all while earning tons for his hospital from us. Please save yourselves and never look at MIOT

Oh, also I forgot to mention about the office staff and sisters in MIOT Institute of cancer care, extremely rude and bad attitude towards patients who are already mentally agonized. Whatever stress you have sat there they will double it. I won't be surprised if someone slaps them publicly and they deserve it.
