I am a not so proud owner of a Micromax smart phone A116 HD.
Here is why:
My touch screen cracked and what followed was an absolute nightmare for any customer. Firstly, the website had no listing(when I checked in Oct 2013) for any support in Pune. After inquiring at a number of stores selling Micromax products, I found one authorized service center called "Tech Solution" on J.M. Road, Pune.
After paying Rs. 2800/- to replace the touch screen, I found that it did not work towards the lower part, including the navigation keys like "back". I immediately returned it to "Tech solution" to fix it. The returned it back after 2 weeks saying its done. But the condition was the same.
It has been lying with them for the last 2 months. I am always told to call on the next working day promising me that it will be fixed by then. On politely inquiring as to why does it take 2 months and if they understand that a customer is getting harassed in all of this, one Mr. Anil Gupta had the audacity to disconnect the phone call!
Worse, I don't know where to complain/escalate within the Micromax organization. Writing to the email on Micromax website has resulted in no progress! In case you are bothered please do reply to this and I will share whatever details you require to investigate this. But I am doubtful you will.

Ok I thought matters will be resolved with the above complaint to Micromax on various forums and a strong word with the service center but what followed was shocking:
It cannot get worse than this. I finally got a phone back yesterday. It turned out it was used by one Mr. Rahul Sale(rahulsale@gmail.com) whose google account was registered on the phone. While I deleted everything using the Factory reset, it struck me that may be it is not my phone after all. On checking the IMEI number against the one on the receipt / box, I found that while the sticker is same as the original one, the device itself has a different IMEI number! Which clearly indicates that I am given someone else's phone, with fraudulently sticking on it the IMEI sticker from my phone! This is a huge scam!
