I purchased shoe worth Rs2690/- from Forum Koramangala Bangalore Showroom. It was unknown brand, but highly recommended by the sales person there. He claimed it is brand “ Da Vinci ” owned by Metro and full guarantee is given for a year. I wanted to buy Red Tape from which he converted me to Da Vinci by aggressive sales manship.
Within 4 months, (Maximum 50 to 70 days of actual wearing) the shoes got totally de shaped and fibers started ripping out of the sole from all the sides. I took the pair to the store where they said it may have been manufacturing defect. I asked them to replace the shoes with better quality product which they refused. I left the pair at their showroom and walked out.
Later I contacted their Manager Mr. Pillay at Mumbai who said he would call for the shoes at Mumbai for quality check. After 15 days I again called up and found they have agreed about the quality problem. Mr. Pillay said he would call me back with information about replacement within 2 days. Since one month has passed, I must have made 5 to 6 calls but Mr. Pillay is never available, neither he calls back, never responds messages.
At store when we are talking to the manager about complain they internally signed to each other in their language “ Chabi Kar”, which I understood later meant; “Avoid him, let him get lost, cut short! ” This is the Metro Shoes culture; Push customer for highest margin items, and later avoid them when bad quality stuff gives up.
So next time you buy from Metro Shoes get ready to face “ Chabi Kar!”
May God bless them to survive, in such compititive market.
