The minimum you expect of a cab service is information on whether you can get a cab at the required time or not and I cant believe Meru can goof up even on that. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience with Meru.
First
The booking was confirmed but the driver never called. We got the driver’s number and called him multiple times but he never picked the call. We step outside our office building and see a Meru cab pass right in front of us, we called the Meru cab hotline and the only response that we got was “we apologies for inconvenience”. How Convenient!
Second
We booked the cab, got confirmation and again we never received any call. This time we call the hotline directly (based on our past experience) and they say our cab has been cancelled, and they didn’t bother to inform us and this is at 11.30 pm. When I called their feedback department, again the same answer “we apologies for inconvenience”. I think maybe their feedback department is just an IVR and nobody really listens to whatever we have to say, but just keeps repeating the same line after every 2 minutes.
Meru might charge marginally less than most other cabs, but in terms of service and reliability they are the worst. So go ahead and book Meru but always have a plan B handy.
