This player is now quite old. 12 years ago when codecs.com was new at that time media player classic was a very good player. it was able to play formats like*.ape, *.flac, *.ogg in audio files and *.rmvb, *.mp4, *.h264, *.ogv, *.DAT in video files when other players struggled to play it properly. at that time vlc media player was quite new and no one used it.
Moreover it was full of bugs and vlc crashed if you played any file which was not supported by it. but now times have changed Media player classic now does not have any advantage over vlc or any other competing players. features which it does have include.
no easy brightness / contrast settings
no easy aspect ratio change buttons
no buttons for volume boost.
boring interface with no new styling
skip / forward or backward facility is not good.
good Theatre mode or sound enhancement not present.
paused playback P frame to P frame not present.
codecs need to be updated if format is not recognized.
So as you can see all these features are now basic for any player to have and still Media player classic is lacking these features.
go for VLC or GOM if you want better featured player.
