I have been visiting McDonalds restaurants in Mumbai off and on over the past 2 years or more. I have tried all their foods and beverages and I have not been too happy. McDonalds is a place to be if you are young and want to hang around with your friends. If you dont mind small tables, loud music, self-service, junk food, quickly-eat-and-clear-the-table-for-others kind of quick eating, then McDonalds is a good place for you. Im a junk food freak (although I dont look like a foodie; have you seen my facial bones in my photo? :-)). I like to hang around with my buddies there. But I like GOOD junk food. The recipies that McDonalds has come up with are tasteless. They have tried to Indianise their menu by adding paneer and masalas into their burgers and puffs. Unfortunately they all end up tasting bland. Some of their new products seems to be like old wine in anew bottle. For example, if you have ever eaten their Salsa Wrap, you would notice that its just the regular Frankie that we get on road-side stalls. Unfortunately the Salsa Wrap doesnt taste as good as the Frankie. The food doesnt feel fresh for some reason.
The fact that many of their raw materials that go into their recipes are frozen and not fresh comes through when you eat them. The high prices are not worth it either. Why is it that the road side stall junk food tastes the best? Why cant any restaurant's junk food taste better? What joy can a bland fried potato patty between 2 slices of bun bread give you? I recommend McDonalds' Capuchino, Sundae Dessert and Milkshakes. Avoid the food if you can. Its bland.
