Saw the third (and hopefully final!!) sequel to matrix.
my first movie on first day first show... wanted to make this a memorable experience. wonderful storyline which was coming to its end, strong starcast and mind-boggling special effects.. nothing could have gone wrong.. or could it? was prepared for a not-so-extraordinary movie, but this one turned out to be quite a dampener..
wont reveal the plot more than saying that the story does end with lots of question marks and ample scope to continue, if so chosen, into part 4. not sure why the lengthy explanation as to the functioning of matrix in part 2 and about the previous ''ones'' in part 2 was needed. all that small plots which were expected to be tied together were left out to dry.
this movie maintains the standard of amazing special effects. but thats to it. the matrix - the movie which people liked for both - the special effects and the storyline - miserably fails to substantiate anything further on the latter. over the three parts, the plot has been significantly over shadowed and overlooked by the special effects part.. with the matrix revolutions more like a video game or the long simulation computer game that was being played. progressively the series has gone from best to good to mediocre
the disappointment among fellow audience was visible.
why would you still want to see it?.. some reasons:
if you have already seen the first two parts and are a matrix fan, then you dont want to miss the finale. however middling, you would want to see it. thats the only reason why I and most of people around me had landed up at the theatre
Special effects are amazing.. especially during the attack on Zion. Though they might not hit you, its appreciated coz other movies would find it difficult to emulate them
finally, its gets in some indian characters!! targeted at broadening the audience base, it serves as a matter of pride for those who think that apne desh ke log are now on the international scene. though it does not contribute anything significant to the main plot, it surely is a sign that indian economy is getting stronger!
