Hair Serums are quite useful for dry hair. I personally like using serums as I have dry hair. I am reviewing Matrix Biolage Smoothing Serum. The product contains avacado and grape seed oils. Matrix serum claims that it has got 6 benefits like it controls frizz, deep smoothens the rough ends, adds instant shine to hair, protects hair from humidity, detangles the hair and it nourishes the dry hair. Unfortunately, this product doesn't work on me. I use the product to tame my flyaways , it works for few minutes. By then my hair is back to frizz. So its not that useful for me. I have thin straight hair. But it might work for thick or curly hair. You should apply it on damp hair and work it along the length of hair. Dont massage it into hair. You can also use it on dry hair to add some shine. I only use it for adding shine or detangling of my hair. But overall, it wont help in hairfall. You can also use the serum before blowdrying your hair and afterwards to add some shine. As per the product, it nourishes dry hair, but thats not true in my case. I see no visible result. Also, there are some other serums available like loreal, livon etc which are better than matrix. Livon is way cheaper though matrix is also inexpensive. I purchased it for Rs 275. My take is that if you need a serum just for detangling or adding some shine, then go for it otherwise think about other options.
