We visited martheran recently ( june 2018) . We start our journey from ghatkopar. We take 7: 54 train to neral which took us about one and half hour. Once we reach neral it was clear, sunny day. There are many options to go to matheran from neral , we wanna go to matheran by train but due yo it's rainy season train is working only halfway , from aman Lodge to matheran which is 15 minutes journey but main 1 hour journey is not possible via train.Other options we have was to go by tourist vans to aman lodge which charges you 80 rs per person, otherwise you can go to jummapatti by autorickshaw which changes 50 rs per person, and from jummapatti there is 5 km ( which they told us it is 3 km) tracking towards aman lodge. We decided to go by autorickshaw and then tracking. Once we reach jummapatti it was all grean and beautiful scenery with trees all around the place. After spending some time there we started our tracking. It was upward, well maintained road. We were having fun while clicking selfies and all. Then in 15 minutes after it started raining heavily. We were still positive, it were all wet. But as soon as time goes by we started getting annoyed by the rain. We were annoyed that why is it so long. It was all raining we were all wet from head to toe.Once we reach aman lodge then there was train to matheran. Train journey is not good as we expected it to be. it was all rush there. In 20 minutes we reach matheran and then decided to have lunch and visit points. After having lunch in local restaurant we go towards our first point khandala point. When we reach there it was still raining and due to which fogg was very thick we couldn't able to see anything at all.Same thing happened with most of the all other points. It may not be great journey but I was with my two best friends which makes that journey special. So if you wanna go to matheran then go in summer season so you can see the points and go with your friends and family which makes your journey great.

Before going to matheran you must download offline map of matheran on Google maps it will be very helpful. Mobile internet is not work there. Neither jio nor Airtel.
