I am thinking of upgrading to a premium hatch. So have been researching a lot on the various options available. I did most of my homework online. I thought I should pen up my thoughts on the websites of the automobile companies.
“ The sites I checked…”
I was looking for the B-segment cars, but also looked at some other cars I liked!
https://marutiudyog.com
http://www.india.ford.com
http://www.gm.co.in
http://www.hyundai.co.in
http://www.tatamotors.com
“ Marutiudyog.com –plain and simple”
You won’t find this site very attractive, except if you are looking at the page for the new Swift. But then, it is more of a no- nonsense site. You have all the information you came there to check on and much more…
“ All the info…”
The company has one of the best updated sites. You have all the information on the various models of the company, for the used car market, car accessories, driving tips, maintenance tips and much more.
Then to add to the cars, there are the news and events, polls, quiz, newsletters, dealer locater and even finance and insurance options. Now that is going to be very helpful to the buyer.
“ Brochures”
Well! You could download brochures for any of the Maruti products. Ranging from the 800, to the gypsy, to the Suzuki Grand Vitara. The brochures are all completes and there are no hassles in downloading. The servers are all pretty fast and with a cable modem, you can download a brochure in seconds, while it almost took me two or three minutes to download a brochure for the indigo from tata motors.
“ Utilities…”
Then there is the fun stuff. Wallpapers and screensavers featuring the various cars from the Maruti stable. Then they say there are e- greetings and desktop utilities, but I don’t have that much time to waste…
“ Destination guides… cool”
Then there is another thing worth mentioning. The destination guides to the various places can come in very handy while planning a trip. They give details on how to prepare you car, drive, location, activities and features of the place, what to look for, places of interest and other useful information like the weather, accommodation etc.
For buyers… for me! I’m flattered!
There are separate sections for the buyers and it mainly focuses on the various aspects that a prospective buyer would be interested in knowing about the company and the whole process of buying a car. Then there are also separate sections for the owners. The website does give the feeling that the company does care for its owners. Good thing my old car is also a Maruti.
“ Its child’s play”
That’s what I liked about the site. Every piece of information is well arranged into respective categories and so placed that even children can understand where to look for. The main page itself gives links to the pages of their various models of cars, and all these pages are complete with every information on the car.
“ Wanna express your feelings?”
The owners section is also very complete with owner manual, service stations, car care, and special offers and also to express your feelings.
“ Comparisons and my views…”
The tata motors site has recently update their site and it is also equally good, and more colorful. The rest, though very interesting, lacks much details… So it is a good site from the best automobile manufactorer in India.
