We had Maruti800DX (5 Gear Model), looking for an upgrade. The options were Tata Indica, Hyundai Santro Xing, Maruti Zen. Well very tough choice to make from these great selling cars.
Heard nothing really very nice about the Tata Indica, the feedback seemed that it's too heavy on maintainance same was with Santro Xing, the spares were too expensive and the reach of the service network was not so good. In all these Maruti comes real winner.
Zen was ruled out because of the very old looks and very less boot space, even though very comfortable driving position. WagonR seems to have everything that I was looking for, good power, power steering, enough cabin space, enough boot space, the service network, spares availability. Well, what it really needs to improve on is the Leg room for rear seats. It's not that bad, but it's not very good also.
I waited a bit for the New WagonR Magic launch, and it was worth it. The clear head and tail lamps with an improved front grill definitely change the looks of the car. The dashboard with white dials looks cool.
The additional gadgets like key reminder, light reminder, central locking, trip meters makes it complete.
Now I've been driving my new Magic Car for 2-3 months and it's fantastic, I'm enjoying every bit of it. The AC is super cool and keeps you cool even in the hot afternoon. The drive is smooth and maneuvering is very comfortable. It's no pain driving on the busiest roads in mumbai at peak hours.
The rear wiper has been replaced by the de-foggers, I fell they should have kept the rear wiper, I guess it's useful on highways in monsoon , as the trucks splash and spray a lot.
Overall definitely a fantastic car !!!
