I recently bought a Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha - Petrol from Fair Deal Cars, Akshardham for Rupees 8.4 lakhs(approximately).
The car looks stunning. That has been the unanimous review for this car. It is very wide at the bonnet region and that adds a certain muscle quality to its looks.
The car is lightweight which makes it very easy to drive, even for a new driver. The lightweighted chassis combined with the ultra smooth steering wheel and clutch allow the driver to easily accelerate upto 100kmph veru quickly.
I drove this car at 145 kmph and was surprised at its stability and ease of handling at such a high speed. The braking system is good, but not the best.
The boot is extremely spacious and can house 2 large suitcases and a large duffle bag pretty easily, without the need to collapse the rear seats.
All the seats of the Baleno are extremely comfortable and well cushioned.
The air conditioning system is perhaps the best in its class or at least at par with its rivals.
But, like all products, this car comes with its own fair share of flaws. Some of them are -
The braking system is not the best in class.
Average is a major issue. I have never been able to cross 15 kmpl depsite being an efficient driver.
The headlights could have been better.
The multi information display is useless. It shows total driving time which is stuck at 99:59:59. How exactly is this useful to any driver?
The floor mats provided by Nexa are of very sub standard quality.
The most MAJOR issue - in the Alpha model, the driver side AC vent is right behind the steering wheel. As a result, a driver is not able to receive any cold air from this particular AC vent. A big pain during summers.
