ALTO-best value for money. Review on Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 VXi

Hi buddies, this time I am back for raising a toast for ALTO, its the best small car one can ever get. I have owned ALTO LX for last 2 years, got it regularly serviced at maruti authorized service center, and used maruti genuine spare parts.

Servicing a car outside after the free services get over might me a little cheaper but I strongly recommend to get it done at an authorised service centre and listen to the service engineers they dont make a fool out on you but indeed tell you whats the problem. My car has done 15,000 km and other than being used in mumbai city, I have so far made one trip to baroda, two trips to shirdi all the way up to shani shignapur and back to mumbai, and one trip up to mahabaleshwar and back, with couple of trips to lonavala on weekends. And believe me folks ((touch wood)) she never made me feel I m overworking it, in summers she has responded well with the AC running. Without AC I get about 14 kmpl n with AC about11-12 kmpl.

The best for me was when last month I had gone to Mahabaleshwar, I went via mumbai - panvel - satara - panchgani route, and it has in all 4 ghats of which 2 are indeed deadly. But my Alto made me proud; she went through the ghats smoothly like a snake in the woods. I never felt low or inferior to big cars on ghat. Of course on a straight run I cant compete with the big fellow cars but mine always did 80 - 110 km/hr and I was very happy with it. The weather had become worst on our way back as it was raining heavily and lot of fog. But on those wet roads, or shall I say risky blood thirsty slippery first rain roads my Alto held the road like mother holds a child, no skid at all.

Overall in short, Alto is the car one should go for. It might be having the same 800cc engine of maruti 800 but when you drive alto its a lot different from driving a maruti 800, and may be the small cars must be equally good, but since I have worked on huge car carriers ships and we used to bring cars from Korea and Japan to Europe and America. And believe me the KIA (korean company) cars were nothing compared to the Japanese, the Korean tech. It is good for a year or two and it will definitely trouble you, but Japanese, its not only that there wives are loyal, every thing from Nippon has the loyalty attached to it. ALTO INDEED IS THE HOT LITTLE CAR IN TOWN.... AND ONE CAN SAY ANYTIME LETS GO...AND TOMORROW AGAIN I'M OFF TO LONAVALA FOR A BEAUTIFULL WEEKEND, CHAOOOO
