How I Went There?
I was on a family trip last week(21-26th October). In my trip, Haridwar was one of the places that we visit. On the 23rd Morning, we reached Haridwar from Jammu via train- Hemkund Express. As per our planning, on the very first day after getting plunge into the holy Ganga River, we headed to our hotel. changed the wet clothes and moved towards the Mansa Devi to have the darsana of the Goddess Mansa Devi.
How We Went?
Our hotel was quite near to the Haridwar railway station, from there we took a sharing auto, which we had not to share as we were 10 people and it had capacity of the same number of people. The auto dropped us to the Mansa Devi Cable Car center, from where we brought combine tickets of Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi at around Rs.265/ head.
We all were excited to sit in the trolley and capture our images as well as enjoy the scenic beauty. Total 4 people of our group, shared a trolley which dropped us quite near to the Mansa Devi Temple, which is at height.
Undoubtedly, it was an amazing experience to sit in the Cable Car and enjoy the greenery of the Uttrakhand and have that epic view of holy river Ganga. Apart from cable cart, their is also a walking path to reach to the temple, which we even didn't thought to take as we were already tired due to coming from Vaishno Devi.
About the Temple
May be due to long weekend, the temple was over-crowded, it was so tough for us to even breathe there. In the temple, there were several boards with the request that do not put the Bindi's that are for *chadawa on the wall. But all the walls, right from entrance to end had bindis on them, which was making them not good to see.
There was no one to manage the rush of crowd, even the priest was pushing people to move quickly. He was even passing some comments that may hurt religious sentiments.
I also found lack of cleanliness in the temple, dust, prashad, flowers and many other items were on the floor, which is not good religiously as well as hygienically.
Even I found lack of security arrangements as on such high rushy day, there was hardly 2-3 security personnel in the entire area.
The worst thing I experienced there in the Cable Car queue was that they follow a VIP culture. They are making a culture in which Politians are more closer and important to the god. We were standing in the queue for more than 2 hours, suddenly a family of politician visited the spot and given preferences and special treatment.
I visited the temple in October, it was a quite good day as per weather conditions. Would like to visit this place in high winters of December-January to see the beauty of place with fog.
