So finally, finally, you have a half-hour to spare before you start the'getting ready' ritual. Why not pay some attention to your hands? They are alwayz on show and bring more grace and poise to your look than you probably realise.
The do-it-yourself home manicure!
# First of all remove all old nail polish and file nails in one direction, that is form side to centre.Never file nails to a sharp point. Usually emery boards work best.To bring back the natural colour to yellow nails, try rubbing a slice of lemon on your nails before soaking them.
# Now, dip hands in a bowl of warm water with a dash of face wash/mils shampoo and lightly fragranced oil.To boost circulation of your hands, add 2 drops of peppermint oil(Essential Oils by Blossom Kochhar has a lovely one).As an alternative to using lemon you could try Hydrogen Peroxide(a capful) added to warm water to whiten nails.Soak 4 about five mins.
# Dab hands and nails with a towel and apply cuticle softner around nails( if you don'thave one, use hand cream).with rounded side of an orange stick, gently push back cuticle.(Orange sticks are available at most cosmetic stores.)
# Massage hands with moisturising cream use plenty of cream to make hands soft and supple. Now gently wipe off with a damp towel.
# A mask does wonders to your face.Believe it or not it does the samefor your hands and arms.Makes the skin feel clean, taut and fresh. Apply on your hands in exactly the same way you would on your face.I use Fullers earth mixed with rose water.
# If he happens to be eager and turns up early, let him choose your nail colour and let him put it on.:)
