Hi guys...now after my trip to maldives I understand that there are many couples out there who are looking at Maldives as a honeymoon location. This is how I had planned my trip

Advice 1: Never Never go through travel agents for this sort of trip. The reason being that I got an initial quote of 55,00/couple for 5 days, from an agent in mumbai, again on checking on the net I got another quote for 45,000/couple for 5 days, from an agent in indonasia (yup I have scoured the world for a good deal). You can make the payments via net and get the confirmation online.

Finally I got the site address of a resort (Embudu Village) and the entire package worked out to be 38,000/couple inclusive of flight also.

So booked the resort for 5 days without any payment. Just mail them and the confirmation is done on reply.

Travel : Indian Airlines from Trivandrum Kerala worked out to be 4000/person one way. Again a direct booking. so the travel came to 16,000 per couple. You land on an island which is exclusively an airport.

Tvm-Male : The flight was ok and landed on time in Male airport where you exit and search for counters where your resort will be listed. From there the boat picks you up and then takes you straight to the resort.

Resort : Enbudu Village : On the resort dimensions you guys can check out the website. But then that resort has the best dive reefs in maldives.

We got a warm welcome and then was excorted to our rooms. Its a comfortable room with attached bath with running hot and cold water.

The entire island has soft white sand so you can forget wearing an footwear for your entire stay. They also have a badminton court and a beautiful seaside bar.

The island itself is not that big meaning its just an evening stroll for about 20 minutes and you would have walked the entire circumference of the island.

Water Bunglows : They were under renovation when I went there but also got a feedback that its too loud and irritating at night because of the waves.

F&B: The rate there is inclusive of breakfast lunch and dinner. The only flipside is that you in the restaurant you have to pay for the water also which works out to be 2 $ per bottle. All to be cleared when you checkout. But really you can just hog your heart out there. They have theme dinners which covers most of the world cuisine.

Entertaintment :

Honeymooners : Well u know what to do !!!!

Other entertaintment : you can check out snorkelling. its truly amazing to be swimming with the fishes. the reefs are beautiful to a measure beyond words. For people who know scuba diving they have frequent trips on those also.

they also have a submarine dive which I could not attend as I was leaving on the scheduled day.

Other water sports are wind surfing, banana boats etc.

Seaside Bar : The bar really needs mention as after a rough day at the sea or whatever you can unwind at the bar with your loved one. The drinks are reasonable and on payment of a certain amount (25 per day per couple) u get unlimited snacks and drinks. So if both of you are into all kind of liquids then I would suggest the all inclusive packages.

Advice on tips : They give special treatment for honeymoon couples with flowers on the table and stuff. U usually are allocated a table at the restaurant which u will occupy for the duration of your stay.

Tips for the waiter would be $10 and above as per the service and for the bartender its about $15 and above

Languages : English is widely spoken so u wont have any issues on language.

Visa : is on arrival.

The offseason is in may and thats when I got married and left. so perhaps thats why

i got such good rates.

So guys Have a great honeymoon there.!!!! ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

nice review with lots of detail - you were on your honeymoon and still had the time and energy to pay attention to all this???

reminds me of my own trip to lily beach - stayed in one of the water bungalows, and had a blast. my children would...wake up and literally jump from the balcony into the water!
