ALERT - Be aware of a fraud company "Majestic Freight Cargo Packers and Movers"(majesticfreight.co.in) / "Pragati Express Packer and Movers(https://pragatiexpresspackers.com)
The team: Mr. Rajesh, Mr. Surendra, Mr. Suraj.
The reason why I would like to share this real-life recent incident with you all is so that people like "Rajesh" from fraud companies like "Majestic" doesn't cheat anyone else.
Here the story begins:
Person named "Rajesh"(mobile number:+91-9322360091) employee of Majestic(found later that he works for Pragati Express Packers and Movers as well) gave us a quotation for the household goods shifting from Vashi, Navi Mumbai to Indore(M.P.) wherein it was clearly mentioned that the total cost is inclusive of GST(Value added taxes) and including Insurance cost. We agreed on the costs and asked them to come and pack the stuff on 25/Feb/2018; Later on the day we enquired from him, is it possible for them to deliver the Honda Active bike(one of the items we shipped) to Sagar(M.P.) and rest all household stuff to Indore(M.P.), he said, Yes however we will have to pay additional 1500 INR. We agreed.
They finished packaging and end of the day when stuff was all packed and ready to be loaded on the truck, and while giving them 50% payment(and 50% to be paid on delivery) guy deferred and said we will have to pay the GST. We said, but we agreed earlier that the quote was all-inclusive. After multiple rounds of discussions with "Rajesh" he agreed to pick up the stuff and verbally promised to deliver the stuff in next 2 days. We asked him about the Insurance policy, he said they will email it to us by next day. On 26/Feb/2018 what he sent was an IMAGE of the Insurance policy on WHATSAPP(rather than on email). On enquiring about sending on email, he said will do so as soon as I reach office.
Below is the detailed chronology of the conversation thereafter:
On 27/Feb/2018: we called him to check the status, he said the truck is on the way and you should receive it before 6 pm. My brother had to take a leave from his office to receive the shipment, however, why would fraud people like "Rajesh" and such companies will understand. We called him later in the night, he didn't pick up and shipment wasn't delivered.
On 28/Feb/2018 morning: we called him again, he picked up and said, shipment has already reached Indore, however, there is no labour available to deliver and promised to delivery on 1/March/2018; since my brother had to attend a wedding and wouldn't be available on 1st March, we told him, in that case, deliver it on 7/March/2018. He said, sure.
On 7/March/2018: we called him to remind for the delivery, he said we will receive it before 6 pm. The whole day passed but no shipment was delivered again.
On 8/March/2018: we called him again, he said you will have to pay the GST, otherwise, we won't be able to deliver. To our surprise, he used this cheap trick to shell out the money. We told him we will not pay a single penny. Don't try to fool us else we will lodge an FIR against him and the company. He said, let me check internally what he can do.
On 9/March/2018: "Rajesh" called my father and with very low voice and said, Sir please try to understand I will lose my job if you don't pay the GST. He said, I swear on my children, he also said please pay us the remaining amount as well and I will make sure that you receive the shipment by today only. Knowing that the stuff has already reached Indore and on mercy, we said ok will pay, no issues and we sent him the money using NEFT(bank transfer).
Here we asked him about the status of Honda Activa, he said "It has reached Bhopal(M.P.) and should reach Sagar(M.P.) next day.
On 10/March/2018: we called "Rajesh" multiple times, all calls went unanswered. We were a bit scared at this stage and felt something fishy is cooking here. So tried to get some alternate numbers of the company and found a number from the Internet, we managed to speak with "Surendra"(mobile number:+91-9892166414) who was clueless about the issue and we explained him the whole story. He said, let me speak with "Rajesh" and will contact you back soon and assured that he will help us in this matter.
On 12/March/2018: we tried reaching "Rajesh" again, but no reply as usual. So we called "Surendra" who said, He has not been able to get in touch with "Rajesh" and will definitely revert to us as soon as he manages to speak with "Rajesh". At this stage, we felt something fishy and immediately we thought of the Insurance and realised he hasn't sent us the email copy, nevertheless we thought to check with the Insurance company on the procedure to claim the insurance(just to be prepared for the worst case) and to our surprise we realised the insurance company name is not mentioned on the image. So we did a reverse lookup with the address mentioned on the image and found that the insurance belongs to "Liberty Videocon" and spoke to the customer care and to our surprise, get to know that the insurance number isn't legit. So, the guy/company provided a FAKE Insurance to us.
On 13/March/2018: Rajesh picked up the call and we told him we want the shipment to be done anyhow by today and asked about the Insurance goof up he said, let me check with the insurance agent and get back to you.
From 14/March/2018 - 16/March/2018: we called them(Surendra/Rajesh) multiple times, sometimes they answered the call and gave us false reasons and most of the times they didn't pick up the calls. On 16/March/2018, coincidently when we checked Rajesh's number on Truecaller it showed as "Rajesh Pragati", even his WhatsApp picture had a logo of "Pragati Express Packers and Movers". So we searched for the Pragati's Indore office address and visited their office. We met a guy at Pragati's Indore office and asked him about the status of our shipment, he said, let me call "Rajesh" and check with him. Rajesh told this guy that the shipment is with YADAV TRANSPORT SERVICE. So, we got in touch with DILIP YADAV(+91-9302507878, +91-9425045511) and to all our surprise, we got to know that our household stuff is still in Mumbai warehouse(at BHIWANDI) and since MAJESTIC has not paid YADAV TRANSPORT, they cannot pick and deliver it to us.
On 17/March/2018 - Rajesh picked up the call and said, yes! There is some payment pending and will do so today. We told him why did you lie earlier and he had nothing to say, just said sorry, it’s our mistake, don't worry will make the payment and you will get the delivery before 6 pm tomorrow.
On 19/March/2018 - YADAV told us that he has not received the payment and when we asked Rajesh he said, payment is done already. When we asked him to share the proof of payment with us. He said will do. But as usual, no update/reply. Later he said, by mistake money has been transferred to a different account. We told him enough of all this, we are now going to file an FIR, you guys cheating us. He said you have waited so far, please give me one more day and I will transfer the money again.
On 20/March/2018 - Again Rajesh stopped answering the calls. Even Surendra stopped answering our calls. We called YADAV, he offered us a help and said, "You pay me the due amount that Majestic has to pay which is 9, 500 INR and I will make sure that the shipment is delivered to your address next day". We said, why we pay you, we have made full payment to MAJESTIC.
On 21/March/2018 – After thinking a lot and we decided to speak with YADAV and sort this by paying and settle the case, we told him that we are ready to pay him the amount, however, you get the stuff to Indore and once we see the shipment and before you deliver it, we will pay. He said no I want full payment beforehand. At last, we said fine, we will pay you in full, give us the bank details, he said I will only accept CASH. We said we can pay you by cheque, he straight away said No for the cheque as well. This gives us a sign that again there is something fishy.
It has been close to 1 month, and we have not received the shipment as yet.
Those who managed to read this long story, please let us know your views what should be we do(I know the last option is to lodge an FIR and file a case at consumer court but we all know this will take YEARS and this is the only reason people like these take advantage).
If you guys have time, may I request you all to give a call to these people and ask them to tell you the status update about this case as they have stopped answering our calls and comment here what he said. Hope by doing this they will feel a shame and action something on this.
