After a long time I come back with one more of my comprehensive reviews, As there is a bandh today in Mumbai due to balasaheb thackerey's death and as there are no restaurant opened and am starving at home I would like u all to take a walk back with me in my past about the best in its class restaurant!!!!!!!
Today I am gonna review the best in its class RESTAURANT.. If u have a liking for Chinese cuisines then this reviews will be of great help for u guys!!!!
I've been to this restaurant around 5 times and every time I've had a great experience being here..There are very few Chinese cuisine restaurant that really gives the feel, that the money what we have payed was worth it..there are few restaurants like The Oriental Blossom, China Garden and few more which can be counted by fingers that are really good on Chinese cuisine. The restaurant that I am gonna review is the best in the business.
Even though POPTATES is my favorite brand in terms of restaurant, Mainland china is not much behind in the race to be the best.
What did I like or dislike about this restaurant?
Things that I like about this restaurant are many:
Great awesome delicious tasty worthy out of this world and best in its class food : This is the best part about this restaurant, hence its the best in its class. Having visited this place for about 5 times, every single time I've ordered different food and every single time I am more than satisfied with the taste.. Its really YuMmMmMmMmMmMmMmMmMmMm...........
Variety : This restaurant offers a wide range of varieties in terms of starters, main course, soups.. Every time when I go to this restaurant, on seeing the menu I often get confused as to what should I order? and what not.. One more thing that has impressed me about this restaurant is the wide range of food..its next to impossible to find such a wide range of food.
Ambiance : The ambiance is really nice and calming..as this branch of mainland china is situated in the midst of crowd and as one gets into the restaurant..its feels divine..
Customer Service : One more thing worth noticing is the customer service..the staff at this restaurant are well trained, as I had gone with my bike the gate keeper greeted me and took the keys of the bike. On entering this restaurant I came across 3-4 staff of the restaurant and they too greeted me with all respect..rite from the entrance till the end the staff was good in fact great..the order placing..the on-time delivered food..the time to time approach..everything was perfect from the service side.
Order placing : This restaurant is one of the best in town, so obviously such restaurants need booking to be done in advance..but I and my friends just walked in as we were new to this place and dint knew about the booking..but this place is quite spacious and can be accommodated even if the order isn't placed for the dinner/lunch.
Valet parking : This place has valet parking, so parking isn't a issue here..
Home delivery : Home delivery is also available but I would recommend u to go to the restaurant n have dinner in the serene ambiance.
Things that I dint like about this restaurant are few :
Too much of tax : The taxes are high as the normal VAT tax are charged as well as service tax are charged. The 1st time I landed to this restaurant, we were 2 people and the bill sumed up around 1200 out of which 100 bucks were the tax itself (VAT + SERVICE TAX)
Obviously paying for something which u aren't happy of, really hurts
No discount coupons accepted : An average person always makes use of discount coupons/companies discounts etc, but mainland china does not have this advantage of coupons. Around 15% discounts on overall bill are offered by these coupons and can be used across various restaurants but this restaurant does not accept the coupons.
A touch bit expensive : From a common man point of view, this restaurant is a bit expensive and one can make a visit here twice a month.
Average dinner for 2 is 1800/- excluding taxes
Avoid home delivery : Try to avoid home delivery as the food does not taste as yummy as it would taste in the restaurant.
One more thing to be specified is that the desserts has very less range..so other options for desserts can be 5 Spice, if someone decides to go mainly for desserts. The desserts range should be improved and more desserts should be included.
What was the food like?
Been here 5 times I've tried some of the below mentioned dish..
The cost are approx as it changes on weekends
Seafood starters:
Hunan prawns - 590-650/-
Chicken starters:
Sweet and spicy crispy chicken (Highly recommended) - 475-550/-
Chicken with garlic (Highly recommended, the hinge of garlic is awesome) - 475-550/-
Main course:
Maoshi chicken (Good,moderately recommended) - 485-515/-
Spicy duck in hot pot (highly recommended) 650-715/-
Roast lamb with garlic (Highly recommended, garlic dishes are the best as its taste is perfect in the dish) 485-515/-
Season vegetables in black pepper(cauliflower) (recommended for pure vegetarian) 400-450/-
Sweet and sour vegetable with crispy noodles (recommended for pure vegetarian) 380-415/-
Soups and dessert :
Sweet corn soup (recommended and choose crabmeat soup) 180-215/-
Steamed coconut dumpling with honey butter sauce (highly recommended among desserts, and something really new to try out)
Comment on flavor, temperature, portion size and appeal.
As I mentioned that this is the best CHINESE RESTAURANT IN TOWN..and in terms of flavor its the best and everything gets as perfect as it can get..The appeal is also very high and its worth for the money and is suited best for couples wanting to have a romantic and unforgettable dinner.
Comment on the ambiance, music, staff appeal and speed of service
As mentioned the ambiance is great and gives a feel of being immersed into china..one more funny thing to note, one would find many Chinese crowd at this place :-P
The music played here is very low on volume and very soothing, that actually makes one comfortable and feel serene too..The staff appeal is good and highly trained people with good speed of service.
Are reservations necessary?
Yes, But one can go on a weekday without reservations..this place tends to get crowded a bit on weekends. But too be on safe side do reserve ur table..

If reservations aren't accepted, how long a wait can one expect?
If reservations aren't accepted then one can be made to wait for any where around..30-45 mins
But I've never faced this issue as whenever we have gone to this place..our reservations were always accepted..but trust me waiting 30-45 mins to have quality dinner is worth it :-)
Final words:
A restaurant high on quality and customer satisfaction..Ideally the best in town for chinese cuisine..a must try by everyone!!!!!!!
but do ensure u have enough money cause its a bit on the expensive side :-P

And don' forget to have garlic based food..
