Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is famous for its reputation and works in the Biology and Computer Science Department. MKU was once holding the biggest Mainframe computer and it's a great advantage for the students who did a regular course with MKU located in Nagamalai Pudukottai.
MKU also has its own affliated college known as MKU college at AlagarKoil Road, Madurai.
The famous folk singers duo Vijayalakshmi and Navaneethan have done their PHD's and teach there too.
MKU definitely has its credit. It is the only university who has study centres even in GULF. MKU network of study centres across the world is big strength.
Coming to the negatives, I never heard any positive things about the Distant courses. The exams are not conducted regularly. The fees are more.
The course material is good and simple. I have read the MCA study material when we had nobody to teach a subject in the regular MCA course. It was fairly simple and helpful.
So better check out about MKU's recent exam schedule of the courses posted over their website. If it follows a definite pattern, then it might have improved.
