The institute is a part of M.S. University of Baroda. FMS was setup in the year 1984 to cater to the needs and wants of burgeoning economy of the region by providing quality managers. The institute has offered 25 batches to the industry so far. The strength of FMS lies in its qualified and experienced faculties.
It has a very high faculty to student ratio. It has been ranked 4th best management programme offered by universities across the country by Outlook magazine in its issues of October 07 and 08. It has been graded as A+ institute by many surveys including the survey conducted by Business India. The batch consists of 40 students. Students are selected through centralized admission test known as GCET conducted in the month of July-August.
This institute draws best out of the 18000 odd candidates taking the exam. The institute has been able to secure around 100% placements every year. In 2008, 25 companies visited the campus for offering final placements. FMS-Baroda is consistently ranked among top 5 institutes in Gujarat. Students of the faculty have access to university library which has more than 7 lakh volumes and other amenities. The programme is UGC funded and hence fees are nominal.
