Today I am going to review the Luminous UPS. The term UPS stands for uninterrupted power supply. It is a device that is similar to an inverter but used for powering smaller devices like a computer, wifi router, fan etc
Now I have been using the 600 va Luminous UPS from the last five years. So far, the experience has been bad. It is a fairly heavy product and doesnt last long. It has lead acid battery inside it with a capacity of 600 va which is a bit low in my opinion. With this ups, my computer doesnt even last for five minutes. As soon as a power cut occurs, the ups starts beeping and it keeps increasing which is annoying. Eventualy I end up closing everything and shutting down the computer immediately otherwise, the computer will die itself.
There are a few more problems I have faced with this ups. I am not able to connect the monitor and cpu cable into yhr adjacent ports that are provided on the back. Now since it has 3 ports I can connect one cable into the upward port but it bends the cable. ( There are three 3-pin ports)
There is one on/off button to the front on this ups which activates when pressed for three seconds. On its top is an led which stays green when the ups is charging and turns red whenever there is a power outage. When only 2 minute is remaining it starts blinking and as the battery dies, it turns red. It works just fine but there is no indication about the battery level on this ups and you will never know how long it will last. But you can roughly assume that this ups can give you a battery backup of five minutes or maybe less depending on the usage. Dont expect too much : (
