Never ever go for Luminous Inverter or any product. They'll never give you a replacement or refund even it is under warranty. If you have a battery of some other brand then forget about a refund or replacement they'll put everything on Battery.
I purchased a Luminous Zelio WiFi inverter in October 2020 because we are working from home during an ongoing pandemic. After 3 months in January 2021 it caught fire and because of that my house caught fire but somehow a big tragedy was avoided.
I raised a complaint: 4010648298 on 9th January.
After that, I never got any update from Luminous for the next 2 months. Therefore, I contacted the technician and he gave me the contact number of the local area manager Mr. Shankar: 930404xxxx who kept on assuring me that I'll be getting the replacement.
Almost 2 months passed and I was not getting any update on my complaint.
2 weeks back I called Mr. Shankar asking for an update on replacement and he told me that you'll get the replacement within 1 week <- remember this
But there was no update from his end and when I called him again he told me I'll not get the replacement. I was shocked initially they told me I'll get the replacement.
If you go through the sequence of events described above it is a clear case of keeping the customer in dark, promising the customer a replacement for the inverter which caught fire and which is under warranty. But it was all done to cool down the fire issue that happened because of inverter failure.
I reached out on social media with burnt Luminous Inverter on Twitter and Facebook after which I got a call, that a technical guy will reach to check the inverter once again.
Before coming to my house the guy called me and asked me to send a pic of Battery which was blasted. I was shocked because the battery never blasted and I never mentioned that battery blasted. This was a trick from Luminous to put this fire issue on the Exide battery.
I got a mail again saying we can't replace the inverter because the battery blasted. The battery never blasted and since I have a record in the mail chain from Luminous, they'll have to prove in court from where did they get the information that the battery was blasted?
This is totally unprofessional from s brand Luminous which planted wrong evidence against Exide that their battery blasted.
It was my fault that I didn't go through the review earlier on mouthshut. After this incident, I found there's a similar incident of fire in Luminous Inverter.
Worst Customer Support. They just visit for time pass as they did in my case.
Anyways I am planning to complain in Consumer Court and I'll not only claim a refund for Inverter but also for the loss which happened because of fire caused by Luminous Inverter.
Remember for the same issue they'll give you many different complaint numbers. For me, I have 3 complaint numbers for the same issue.
