Luka Chuppi stars Kartik Aaryan, Kirti Sanon, Aparshakti Khurana and the director of the movie is Laxman Utekar.
Luka Chuppi tells the story of Guddu and Rashmi fall in love and a lot of drama happens when the girl suggests that they go for a live-in relationship before marriage as their small town in North India is against live-in relationships and the girl’s father, who is a local right wing party leader, leads this movements.
Luka Chuppi talks about a host of serious issues like misogyny, gender inequality, caste bias and moral policing but they are handled in a funny way. There is no moment in the film where it takes itself too seriously.
The debudante director Laxman Utekar has done a great job. Aparshakti plays the role of a supportive friend really well. Pankaj Tripathi’s role could have been more elaborate. The rest of the characters also are witty and well written, especially the eccentric members of Guddu’s joint family or Rashmi’s politician dad. The amazing writing by Rohan Ghoge is what makes this film a must watch.
The first half is swift and packed with funny moments and unpredictable twists. However, at some point the films humor becomes repetitive.
Overall, Luka Chuppi is an entertaining film that will keep you glued to your seat.
