The Lonely Planet offers an excellent sneak into the lives of various people and places abroad and the show rarely ventures into the expensive hotels. Backed by an excellent host Ian Wright who happens to be my model for an ebullient but non-over enthusiastic host, his funny acts really has you in splits.
The features on countries which generally donot feature as popular travel destinations are quite fun, especially nations like Laos, Tunisia and many North African countries are worth watching.
The tour guides they choose to get helpfrom also seem sensible .Try seeing their trips to US which give us a whole new dimension.
They never forget to get a low down on the local cuisine so foofies better watch out.Their enumeration of the various local customs and the way they show how to get accomadation even in the remotest island are quite unique.
Neverthless the show sags when other hosts take over robbing it completely of its vitality, especially Shapiro and a Hispanic woman whom I do not remember.
