Today being 15 August there is a overdose of Patriotic movies on Tv and I chose to watch Loc. I'm sorry to say Loc the movie has made a mockery of Kargil Conflict. We all know how valiantly our hero's fought in Kargil and we don't need anyone to tell us that.
coming back to the movie Mr JP Dutta who is always been a B grade film maker making movies such as Kshatriya etc hit jack pot with Border because of the political and jingoist atmosphere at that time. but when he tried to repeat that in Loc he failed misserably
There is virtually whoes who of Bollywood in Loc. u name it you have it Yes Mr J P Dutta must be applauded for this. in the movie apart from the names like Capt Vikram Batra or Major Astana nothing was more credible.
All the fight sequences are robotic, far from authentic there are so many scenes where they have shown hand to hand fight we all know Kargil was a high altitude war and artillery was the major weapon. yes some hand to hand fight scenes were a must but in the movie it was all so unreal.
Pakistani soldiers are shown as cartoons. there is one scene where there is an altercation between a Pakistani officer and Abhishek Bachan where the Pakistani officer says "hume Madhuri de do khuda kasam hum wapas laut jaenge"
I don't know what the director had in mind but I felt the scene was rather comical and there is a balancing act an Indian Muslim soldier is commended for being patriotic ( common guys do we need to announce these things )
There lot of unnecessary swear words ok fine JP thought it would look real but for gods sake he should have known its a War Movie and not an Adult movie and even children watch it.
among the heroines who hardly have anything to do than weep nothing is worth saying Kareena when she goes to receive the coffin looks like she is high on Dope. it was just Rani who did some justice to the feelings of a widow.
I had never liked JPDutta types and Loc was nothing more than a jingoistic way to make money.
it was nowhere near to brilliant war movies of past like Lalkar, haqeeqat, or Lakshya I felt Lakshya was a far real and better movie on the same war
