This movie Is based on a true story of a boy named saroo who is 5 yrs old and who lives in a small village in Gujarat. Saroo is the second child in the family and lives with his mother elder brother and a younger sister.
They were poor so his elder brother guddu had to work on platforms to earn for his family. One night saroo goes with his brother to help him but he gets separated from his brother as he goes inside the train while his brother was gone and the train leaves the platform for kolkata.
Saroo gets separated from his family and end up in fostercare from where he is adopted by a family from Australia.
The story is well shown about how saroo returns to his family.
Dev Patel's role is just amazing in this movie.
