Everyone wants to have a radiant face, flawless complexion, hourglass shape/great physique, that glittering smile, and thus the list goes on and on. For attaining the rest you need to work out hard but at least for achieving the first two goals, all you need is to keep your face clean i.e. free of oil and dirt.
I have a hyper sensitive skin(mixed skin type- T zone oily and the rest dry) and experimentation with unknown cosmetics or skin products leads always leads to disastrous results in forms of acnes and rough skin. So my beauty regimen only consists of a good face wash, cleanser, and light moisturizer and after that a dash of kohl and some basic liquid lip color. There was a time when I had to travel a lot during my college days and was in a dire need of an effective cleanser. I tried most of the so called cleansing milk and lotions without any satisfaction as the lotions would leave my face feeling greasy after the cleanup act which I hated to the core. What’s the use of a cleanup lotion if it leaves you feeling all sticky and messy?

*1. Cleansing:
T**he first step of a good skin care routine is cleansing. It cleanses the dirt, impurities and excess oil that clog your skin's pores and cause blackheads and acne. Use the MattEffect cleansing foam, an instant liquid to foam cleanser on cotton pad and apply all over your face with gentle upward strokes. Repeat twice if dirt and make-up is heavy.
2. Toning:
Just as cleansing is important to get rid of the impurities, toning is essential as it closes the open pores. Toning is a must for people with oily skin, because open pores leave you susceptible to getting acne. Use the MattEffect astringent on a cotton pad and tap lightly on the entire face to tighten and close pores. The results of toning are an increased facial volume and reduced wrinkles, expression marks and sagging in the face.
*3. Mattifying:
*Most people perceive oily skin as the perfect excuse for not using moisturizers. However our skin has a very fine moisture and oil balance, which is disbalanced by constant exposure to environmental agents. Using a lightweight, water-based'mattifier' can restore this balance. The MattEffect Mattyfying fluid replenishes and retains moisture that is lost during the day’s work. Gently massage with upward strokes over your face and neck region carefully avoiding the under eye area and the eyes. It provides cooling effect and instantly hydrates the skin. It restores the skin’s suppleness leaving your skin feeling soft, moisturized and fresh.
Note: Both toners and astringent can be used as a cleanser. Their only difference being - Astringents are useful in controlling surface oils and lowering skin’s pH, after cleansing. At the same time, they also tighten the open pores of the skin. On the other hand, toners are mainly used for keeping the skin hydrated and providing nourishment to the skin.
*How Matteffect Astringent works:
*It contains salicylic acid, an oil control ingredient referred to by the dermatologists for acne control. Acne is formed when skin cells inside hair follicles shed too fast and clumps together, plugging up the follicle and causing a pimple. Salicylic acid helps slow down shedding of the cells inside the follicles, preventing clogging. Salicylic acid also helps break down blackheads and whiteheads.
*A few tips:
*1. After you clean your face with the cleanser, wash your face with cold normal water/rose water and pat dry, to remove any trace of the cleanser on your skin.
If you can apply some ice instead of water after cleansing the skin then you can feel a better cooling effect. This can refresh you in minutes when you are feeling too tired.
If you are already having a bad bought of acne on your face please refrain from applying any kind of skin products except medical products on that area.
Remember this is not a acne removal kit, it just a provides your with a protection mechanism and helps your skin stay clean.

Though skin care products are always aimed at the fairer sex, but believe me this one at least is effective for guys as well. Because guys tend to accumulate more dust and grim on their face and their skin also needs hydration and protection.
Also it says the range is for oily skins, but I have a dry skin and have been using this product for more than four years and never really had any problem with it whatsoever. Maybe its more beneficial for the oily skin types but it goes well with the other skin types also. So I would suggest not to shy away from this brilliant product just because it says- meant for the oily skin.
The best thing about the product is it can be used round the year in every weather condition. You will be surprised to look how much dirt the cotton pad has accumulated from your face once you use the cleanser. It’s very probable that you will look at it and shriek – it cannot be! But in reality a perfectly clean face also has a layer of dirt invisible to the eye. And I must say this is exactly where the product scores heavily. Among the myriad products available in the market this one captures dirt the best.
