Antecedently know as'Maris theater', which enjoyed a huge popularity and loyal fan base comprising from youths to families, a decade earlier was the only theater to screen non-tamil movies, had to close down due to some unknown reasons(maybe financial or management issues).
After a gap a five years it renewed itself as the current known'LA cinemas'. With construction and renovation work going on for more than a year, keeping people buzzing about what it will turn out to be.
It has done exceptionally well to keep up with the high expectations.
The interiors are well done and seem sophisticated. It is very well lit, glamorous and throws a hint of luxury here and there. The exterior has been revamped to compeer the grandeur of the interiors.
The screens are huge and clear. Seems they have roped in with the latest tech for visuals to go along with the QUBE audio which is fantastic although it sometimes seems too loud during actions squeals or during fast paced scenes and songs.
The seats are comfy, I wouldn't say they are top notch and best in class. Sometimes they switch-off the AC mid screening, which isn't very appreciated.
Restrooms are very well maintained and unsullied. The catering is ok tho. Can be said a bit expensive, but nothing to complain. Parking your two-wheeler can cost ten bucks.
The overall experience is quite pleasant and satisfactory.
Has the strategic re branding helped'MARIS'? Well, I guess it is.
