This is the most representative serial of our times. It represents the moods of the millions in India. Womenfolk flock to their television sets and snatch the remotes from the foolish men who are watching some crap on BBC.
The very following of the serial shows the taste of India - a rather insipid taste. What can I say now - Bad mother-in-law vs good Daughter-in-law. When you think you've had enough, bad mommy-in-law turns goody-goody and her daughter-in-law becomes her bosom buddy (could be a reason why there was an attempt to eliminate poor Mihir...hmmm...Fire).
Add to this a bunch of quintessential rotlu characters - the aging babuji, the superman husband (actually he's the guy doing an encore post-mortem), some hot babes who don't know how to wear a sari, some bimbo guys (somehow the guys let us down...the women are always the vamps...buck up chaps...) and the platoon of little kids. Please don't get a wrong idea here - I am neither a regular Kyunki watcher nor am I prejudiced against it.
Yeah, I had to watch some recent episodes and dig up some history to write this review but that's where I draw the line. I don't understand how any self respecting human can stoop to the level of watching such offal. Emotions running high, the sacrificing Tulsi, the scheming bitches and a yarn spun by the Fates - can anyone want more for a splitting headache. Saridon should seriously think of advertising its analgesic during the intervals.
Yo Ekta, Take my advice and make something like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Sasoor Thi...might just bring about some excitement!!
