CUP siZE – it matters?!
Now now! Hush already, all you dirty men and women! After revealing the secrets of our heart(impressing and all that), I am NOT about to reveal the other intimate secrets that are an even bigger mystery to “man”kind!
You remember the sweet and soft, melt in mouth(stop it already!) cup cakes(ab samjhe?) more popularly known as Mava cake?! Cream cakes then were meant only for birthdays, and pastries for rare special occasion like good results or something. But every now and then parents would get six in a pack(six pack abs weren’t a priority then!;) of those fluffy sponge cakes in cup shape that would get devoured in few seconds flat!
Soon after pastries weren’t so uncommon and mousse replaced plain vanilla ice cream after a nice dinner at a restaurant. Somewhere along the line, the mava cake just faded into the background! Of course you still saw it every now and then, but it was the poor cousin who rarely got bought anymore.
Then coupla months ago, I saw a colourful small pack with a delightful picture of chocolatey cup cake. Being a sucker who wants to try every new edible thing that hits the market and an inherent weakness for chocolate related things, made this a must buy.
Kup Keyk is what this little wonder loaded with bitterness of cocoa beans and sweetness of sponge cake called. (Ekta kapoor se Koi nahi bacha!) The pack proudly says“More Chcolate, Less Cake” andI haven’t seen a truer product description!
One bite into this cake and you are transported to the nostalgia lane with only the bursts of chocolate taste that bring you back to present, and before you know, you are left with the paper that was holding this heavenly thing! You want to lick the paper too, but it isn’t that easy to do. Sigh!
Kup Keyk is available in two flavours – Chocolate and Cashew. It is a product of a company called Switz Cakes who also make your normal slice cakes, bit of ready to eat fancy dessert like things. We have tried Chocolate Fantasy which was quite nice, though a tad too creamy.
I don’t know about other cities, but in Bangalore it is available in all the super markets like Fab Mall(or More as it is called now), Food World, Spar and similar. I haven’t always found them there and get quite disappointed when I can’t lay my hands on half a dozen of them.(And then I wonder why I won’t lose weight!)
Priced at irresistible 5 bucks a piece, how can you help not buying them in dozens.:) Recently we shared it with my brother in law and family and they were really kicked to get them as gift next time around. Cubby quite likes it too and we get to see some happy and crazy kicking around once he has got a l’il bit of the Kup Keyk!
We just wish they were bigger!
Someone said something about Cup of Joy runneth over?
Must have discovered Kup Keyk!:p
