!~*A birthday gift for someone special*~!. Review on Kunal Ganjawala

Today is a very special day of someone special to me. Someone who is funny, cool and well she may not be around my age but she is a great human being. Today is my cousin, Meena’s birthday! So I want to dedicate this review to her because she is such a huge fan of Kunal Ganjawala. So you can call her krazy4kunal. There is something about him that she really loves and that is his voice. So this review goes out to her :)

Kunal Ganjawala never really knew he had a voice. He had only discovered it when he was in College, Elphinstone College. He started participating in many different competitions. He wasn’t a trained singer but was also trained by Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan. Then he was given his chance to sing in a commercial called Doodh Doodh, wherein he then became even more famous when he was introduced to A.R Rehman by Mehboob Sahib to sing the song O Hum Dum Soniyo Re… and also in songs from Lakeer.

Kunal has worked with many different music composers as well. As mentioned before A.R Rehman, Anu Malik, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sandesh Shandilya, Ram Sampath, Himesh Reshammiya, Ranjit Barot and of course many more. Kunal has also done a few private albums but his first album was Ek Cutting Chai.

Now, since this review is dedicated to my cousin let me list her favorite songs of Kunal Ganjawala’s:

.::Bheegey Hont - Murder::.

I’m sure this song would go on the list for all Kunal fans. He sung this song so brilliantly. Which is why he got an award for this song. The lyrics of this song I guess just takes my cousin away to some other planet probably. She just loves the way he sung this song and the music is so gentle and he also sung it very fluently which didn’t make the song feel too tiring to listen to. In most songs usually the background music kind of irritates you but this one was maintained with just the right amount of music to go in the background.

.::Ek Dil Ne - Musafir::.

The music from this song also has a delicate feeling of music in the background as well. Kunal Ganjawala was accompanied by Shreya Ghoshal and I know how much my cousin loves listening to songs with Kunal and Shreya singing together. Their voices go in pretty well together. Also the lyrics of the song is quite apt. Especially the ”Deewana hai” is kind of nice to listen to (Ah, it is so nice to be deewani na? :P) Though, if you wanna talk more about the music then it is very unique. Something relaxing to listen to and once you listen to the song, you automatically feel like singing along as well. A cute song I can say.

Ik dil ne , ik dil se, chhup chhupke kuch kaha..

Kaha ke ye jo zamaana hai deewani hai..

.::Tu Jahan Bhi Jaayegi – Pyare Mohan::.

My cousin likes this song for the cuteness of how Kunal Ganjawala sings it. The wordings are so adorable and the music in the background also brings a good feeling to his voice. It suites him a lot. Most people might not like this song that much but to be honest I feel the music is brilliant and the guitar that plays the chorus is really nice to hear.

Tu jahan bhi jaayegi..

I love you my angel tujhe kabhi na main bhulaaunga..

Kewl, 4/5.. for this one as well.

.::Dil Keh Raha Hai – Kyon Ki::.

At the starting of this song Kunal starts off kind of slowly and that is what caught my attention that this song would be a very cool song. The music is just so unique and different compared to other types of music. Himesh Reshammiya kind of did something different to this song. It is nothing like his other albums like Aashiq Banaya Apne. This song has its own style and the music keeps you entertained. Nothing whatsoever as a song where you can get irritated about whilst listening. The wordings of the song are also really good.

Dil keh raha hai..tujhse yu rishta jod lu..

Teri dhadkano ko chu lu tera jism odh lu..

This one gets 4.5/5

.::Is Tarah Deewane – Insan::.

I can say that Kunal and Sunidhi have good chemistry of voice when they sing together. There is something about both of their voices when they sing songs together. This one kind of gives that feeling. Sunidhi sings it so nicely with Kunal and I can tell you that my cousin is total fida of this song! The music kind of irritates me sometimes but only at a certain part of the song. Otherwise I can say the music is brilliant but also too common. I am not too interested in the lyrics that much, they also seem very obvious though overall I can say the song is pretty good. I decent song to listen to and one of the best of Kunal Ganjawala’s.

Is tarah deewane kyun ho jaa rahe hai hum…

Yeh saaza hai tumse dil lagane ki sanam..

Kunal Ganjawala’s voice seems to bring out a lot of freshness into music. Somehow I feel he deserves to gain that sort of identity since he has worked his way up in such a different way.
