What a film. Review on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai means ''something is happening'' - it stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. The plot is wicked, and I think a first for a Bollywood film! - This was the first Bollywood film I had ever seen and was really impressed with it!

The first scene we see is Shah Rukh (Rahul) looking at a funeral pyre burning, tears running down his face. We then hear a voice over of Rani (Tina) and we know that Tina has just died. We see Rahul talking to the doctor. The doctor said because Tina has just given birth-she has internal bleeding, she’s going to die :(

We see Tina hand over her just born baby to her mother - in law, and then Rahul comes in. The audience see how much love they have when they cuddle, and she dies in his arms. Before Tina dies she tells Rahul to name her daughter Anajli.

8 years later little Anajli is now grown up. And on that day is her birthday, she goes and meet her dad whose late (this parts funny - you have to see the film, because I cant explain it) Before Tina died she make letters for Anajli, one for ever birthday, as the clock chimes 12, little Anajli gets up and heads right for down stairs, when underneath all her presents is her mothers letter.

She opens it, and begins to read. Tina is writing about when Rahul and Tina first meet and Rahul's best fiend Anajli!!! (Kajol)

We see big Anajli, playing basketball with Rahul, and the fun they start to share! - Back then Rahul is a bit of a flirt, and he’s going out with more than 1 girl!! When Rahul sees Tina, he is bang in love with her! - And gradually over time Tina beings to fall in love with Rahul as well!

In an English lesson, the flirty teacher asks Rahul, what is love? - And Rahul replies. . .''Love is friendship'' - he was aiming the answer at Tina, but Anajli looked up (this is the point where Anajli starts to fall for Rahul)

We see a mega funny and sad scene, where Anajli is dresses up in a bright pink outfit, to impress Rahul, but Rahul takes it as a joke and everybody laughs in her face. Anajli goes off, cry, and Tina comforts her! - Tina has realised by now that Anajli has fallen for Rahul.

But Anajli tries one more time to make it work, she runs to meet Rahul, and guess what Rahul says to Anajli ''I love you” Anajli is over the moon, but then Rahul says to Anajli, that he is practising to say it to Tina! - Anajli is heart broken, the song directly after that is called ''Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee'' - is a major hit! - You have to listen to the songs!!!

Anajli realises that it’s not going to work, and decides to leave college and go back home. Rahul finds out that she is leaving and hurries to the train station, to convince her to stay, with tears in her eyes Anajli says no, and she leaves her love forever. Before going Anajli, throws her scarf at Tina, so they can remember her.

We the see little Anajli, crying while reading this letter. Tina tells her daughter in the letter to get big Anajli and her dad back together.

Does Anajli bring big Anajli and Rahul together?

Do they get married?

Is it a happy ending?

Watching Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - it’s worth watching to find out!

Shah Rukh Khan - an excellent actor!! - So much skill, and he played the part extremely well!!!

Kajol - her second major hit since ''Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge'' - she plays the part of Anajli extremely well, and her large eyes, are well suited for the crying scenes!!

Rani - it was the first film I’d seen with her - and definitely not that last! - She played Tina really well!!!

Songs - all the songs from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai are excellent, below are what I think are the best . . .
