Comedy movies are just that. Can you recall any comedy movie which is not just another comedy movie but has something more than that? Ever tried to derive learning from a comedy movie? In essence every movie gives out a certain message. The impact with which the message comes across determines the destiny of the movie.
The flavor of comedy movies is always on the side of cracking jokes which are based on our real lives. Ironically, we laugh at something which is derived from our reality or sanity. What happens when the jokes are derived from the lives of insane people who are supposed to be pitied?
*The world is full of sane people. The so-called intelligent breed who are struggling day-night to succeed, to out-perform not only their counterparts but also themselves. Competition is a buzzword and all are busy competing. Do we call this as being sane or insane?
Krazzy4
*is an attempt to entertain audience. Its a movie which would convince us that we all are insane, living in an insane world full of insane people. For a change, the movie would make us pity ourselves rather than the deranged ones.
The movie is about the adventures and mis-adventures of a gang of 4 insane people - Raja(Arshad Warsi), Mukherjee(Irrfan Khan), Gangadhar(Rajpal Yadav) and Dabboo(Suresh Menon) - who are out on a mission to save their doctor-cum-mentor Dr. Sonali(Juhi Chawla), who is semi-God for these insane guys. Dr. Sonali is abducted while she takes the four guys to show them the outer world away from the mental asylum. The guys pledge to rescue her. The process of rescuing is quite different from what we have seen till now in kidnap movies because of the fact that the rescuers are afflicted with mental disorders. The revelation of the kiddnapper will prove that sanity is non-existant in today’s world.
There are funny moments but there are serious ones too and you will find yourself laughing even in the serious ones. This is not just another comedy movie. This is a movie which has got everything in it - a story, a message, romance, drama, music, dance, sadness, emotions, patriotism. all sprinkled with comedy.
The movie has not failed to connect with the emotional side along with the funny one. The scenes where Irfan meets his daughter will bring tears to our eyes. Romance is also highlilghted in a jiffy by giving Dia Mirza share of the frame. These extra angles of emotions were well-timed and greatly edited leaving little room for boredom to creep in. Never for a moment the director swayed away from the central theme. This is precisely why the movie scored a hit with the audience. The Dancing Icon (Hrithik Roshan), the Controversy Queen(Rakhi Sawant) and King Khan(Shahrukh Khan) have given special dance numbers in the movie it truely rocked. Patriotism is captured when the 4 insane people make all the busy people in the Mall stand in attention while our National Anthem is played. The scene is truely amazing and worth-a-watch.*
….:Performances:….
Irfan Khan: As ‘The Captain' who is afflicted with ‘Obsessive Compulsive personality disorder’, Irfan gives a remarkable performance. As a father and husband, he manages to bring out the emotions and is truly heart-warming.
Arshad Varsi: As ‘The Angry Young Man’ who is suffering from ‘Intermittent explosive disorder’, Arshad performs well but he could have been better. He did not give a perfect performance.
Rajpal Yadav: As ‘The Freedom Fighter’ who is ‘Schizophrenic’, Rajpal does a hilarious job and manages to bring out those smiles and laughs which is trademark of this wonderful actor.
Suresh Menon:** As ‘The Silent One’, Suresh does perform well and looks quite cute and dramatic.
The compelling storyline sprinkled with light & bone-tickling comedy will surely be a respite from the mundane life.*
If you think you are sane, think again.
….:Reflecting thoughts:….*
"Important thing in life is to keep the important thing important."
How many of us remember our roots which is, incidentally, the most important thing for us. Forgetting our roots give rise to all sorts of ill-feelings and bitterness. Going-back-to-the-roots is the panacea to kill the hatred and revive scathed relationships.*
P.S: The review is coming quite late but nonetheless it is still relevant because I wanted to highlight the movie from my perspective. Thanks to **Monoo for his inputs as its the discussion with him which helped me complete this review.
