Since so many people find it so hard to hear the much lauded 'god's own country' being called anything less...and yes negative comments are always hard to hear-sometimes they might seem extreme but try living life in someone else's shoes-the sun isn't shining over everyone's worlds.
This review has become a dull dry and 'pleasant filtered' version of the original.Apparently not many were willing to hear a different point of view.Clearly this is not the forum to DARE to do things differently.
So here is the polite and 'propah' and very insipid version fo what I had to say.
My tips for anyone who does make it here for whatever reason:
carry an umbrella and a pile of books and music-especially if its only english stuff u listen to/read.
bring a friend-life here can be duller than an evening in vegas during a power cut
bring your own food/mixes unless u like food steeped in coconut oil
book tickets for holidays away on every weekend except the first
visit the beaches nearby-u can cover them all in a day-hence point no 4.
dont bother bringing any dvd's-just get a player-that's about all you'll be doing for entertainment-hello tv world!
dont believe that the place is going to be as wonderful as u remember from a short 4 day holiday last summer
realize that this is not the kerala of your dreams.for that you need to travel to wayanad/munnar/bekal/thallasery/cochin/kollam/anyhwere but here!
If you have a choice restrict your trip to not more than a week-else resort to point no 4.
Happy Lives go on in LA LA LAND. Herez some lines that just keep playing back in my head...
Your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do.
When you?re riding sixteen hours and there?s nothing much to do.
And you don?t feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through.
Here I am - on the road again
There I am - up on the stage
Here I go - playing star again
There I go - turn the page
So you walk into this restaurant strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you, as you?re shaking off the cold
You pretend it doesn?t bother you, but you just want to explode
Yeah, most times you can?t hear ?em talk, other times you can
All the same old clichés, ''is it woman? is it man? ''
And you always seem outnumbered, you don?t dare make a stand
Make your stand
Here I am - on the road again
There I am - up on the stage
Here I go - playing star again
There I go - turn the page
