Unfortunately had to take my mom to KIMS in an emergency. She had got some insect bite which developed into an infection. The initial care and attention were good, you will be impressed by all these tricks that they do to impress people. They had written a few blood test and Droppler test for my mom. Blood was done at the same time and for droppler test, patient was taken to the 2nd floor, before going I was not informed about the payment to be done at emergency reception on the ground floor. When I checked with 2nd floor reception for payment, first of all, this lady was not available on her seat she was busy chit chatting with someone in the main lobby and she refused to accept the payment saying that emergency patient payment will not be accepted here and made me go all the way to ground floor for payment. My question is why they cant accept the payment when it is same kims reception. Still bearable you take everything thinking ur loved ones should get proper treatment on time.
Test reports came after 2 hours which I am sure was ready before only but they were just delaying it. In between, u will have so many people coming to you asking n telling u the same thing. After diagnosing my mom's issue one of the doctors came n spoke to me about the treatment plan. My actual issue started after this 2 hours gone and nobody came to me and no treatment had started nothing, I was going n telling in reception to make it fast as my vehicle will come and have to travel back to Kollam. They were least bothered they don't respect your time. It is just business for them. I spoke to the nurse and told her to speed up the treatment. Please note still there was no treatment started. Finally, after repeated request, she told one of the doctors to write the medicines. This fellow who is supposed to take care of patient Dr.JISS was casually standing there and doing time pass.
I lost my cool by seeing this then they came to me saying u have to go the pharmacy which is on the 7th floor. 2 and half hours already wasted. They don't understand the frustration n helplessness that u face especially when you are new to this place. For them, they just give bill time to time and ask u to make the payment. In pharmacy also I requested one of the nurses to take the injection downstairs as the patient is waiting then they are telling they can't do it because her duty time is over. Seriously how long will it take to take the lift and go to ground floor and give the medicines? The attitude they gave towards the patient then they claim to be one of the best hospitals in town. They are only interested in increasing your bill nothing else. They just want to admit people there and hand over a huge bill. They will bill you for the minute things used and also unused one. They started saline for my mom and stopped in between when she was taken for Doppler test. They didn't start it again when she was there for two hours. In the final bill, they charged for that also. When I asked the nurse when she said I will cancel it. So people please don't just go n pay the bill without checking it is u who are losing your hard earned money.
Once I raised my voice at reception one Ms. Prameela and Mr. Jaizal had assured me that they will take this matter up and try to change which I doubt will happen. Let's hope to see the change at least patients and people coming with them is not troubled. The most disappointing things are the casual attitude and no importance for your time.
People please speak up and raise your concern and just don't blindly follow what they ask you to do. Ask for explanation clarification. It was 10.30 in the night when I left the premises after finishing everything.
Also, note dispute of asking them for the reports they didn't give me the reports.
