It is not that I am a Pakistani and I am shouting from the roof top that look what a gem of a movie my country has made. I am not at all biased, I have the courage to say the crappy films of my country as rubbish and crap. I even liked GAdar- ek prem katha despite of its controversial theme just because of the handling of the subject.
But the fact is that that whether u r a Pakistani or an Indian, the new pakistani movie 'Khuda ke liye- In the name of God' is truly a master piece, its beyond and better then Lagaan, Black, swades, Mr & Mrs. Iyer, Black Friday, Titli- the first Monsoon day, The namesake, Maachis, Zubeida and Chandni Bar, (I simply love all these indian movies) and recent great master-pieces of India, and is the same calibre of classics like Mughal-e-Azam, Mother India (Mehboob), Appo's triology (Satya jeet ray), Ankur, Mandi, Pakeeza, Junoon and Suraj ka satvaan ghoda (Shaym Benegal). There is no exaggeration at all..beleive me.
The director of this film 'shoaib mansoor' is a 'pride of performance' holder from the president of pakistan and have directed some superb drama serials for ptv in past like 'An-kahi' and 'Alpha Bravo Charlie'. His debut film 'Khuda ke liye' is already declared a masterpiece in the history of INdo- Pak and is a blockbuster super-duper hit allover the cinemas of pakistan, and is showing in jam-packed theaters throughout the whole country.
The film is highly entertaining too, you feel yourself involved in each and every second of the film, it will also answer many myths and questions regarding Pakistanies and Islam and the situation of secular and extremists muslims in Pakistan, Usa and in the UK. It will clear many misunderstandings regarding Islam and Pakistanies, even many Pakistanies made their grammer of Islam correct after watching this flick, its not that its a preachy movie, its very much enlighting, entertaining and the viewer simply glued to the screen throughout the whole movie because of the slick direction and out of the world classy treatment.
'Khuda ke liye' a true masterpiece and if u have missed the film, u will really miss a great gem of Indo-Pak cinema.
