Glad i saw it !. Review on Khosla Ka Ghosla

This one really took me back to one of those Farookh Sheik Era movies, Honestly I did not like the name at first, and I dont know why I did not  like the song as well which turned out to be the only song in the movie. And yesterday this movie was aired on TV, I was infact waiting for another movie, And Khosla Ka Ghosla literally fell into my lap.I want to divide this movie into three parts of three phases

Phase 1 - Father and Younger Son Disconnect

I caught this movie at the time where(Pravin Dabbas) Chiraunji Lal Kosla aka Cherry makes his travel plans to the US, He feels he needs to change his name when the travel agent(Vinay Pathak) Asif Iqbal says that he doesnt look like Chiraunji Lal from any angle. This itself had me laughing to splits by the look in Cherrys face.Cherry lets (Tara Sharma) Meghana know about his travel plans but is unable to break this news to his dad(Anupam Kher) Kamal Kishore Khosla.

Khosla has bought a plot and already made a metal name plate for his new house, This is the place where Cherry objects and says that he wants to change his name.Khosla is not so happy about this but his friend convinces him to befriend his son by having a drink with him, happily he gets home some drink where(Ranvir Shorey) Balwant Khosla/Bunty helps him to make this drink.When Cherry comes home tried and weary Khosla offers him a drink, and this is the place where Cherry discloses his plans to travel, again khosla is taken aback and consults his friend.

My Feelings of this phase -

What I could gather from the above scene is about a loving heart of a father who cares for his sons, he tries all possible ways to communicate and connect with both, but ulitmately thinks about his sons future and lets him do whats right.

The Second Phase -

Khosla is all hyped and excited about the bhoomi puja of his newly accquired land, takes his family in a maruthi where as the elder son leads the way on a scooter with the Pundit. Its a mad search for the plot when the daughter points out a sign board which served as a land mark.Only to learn that the plot is occupied by some one called(Boman Irani) Kishen Khurana. They decide to go back and check with the Real Estate agent about what has happened.Its all about a seires of threats and pleadings ultimately, the elder brother decides to ruffle the skinny watch man only to realise that a huge watch man has taken over.Khosla decides to meet Khurana and get the matters cleared. It turns out that khurana is a big man with a huge bunglaw and some how Khosla is meek and pleads with him to release his land, Khurana acts religious and also impresses Khosla and asks him to meet the agent, Now the agent demands 15 lakhs just to make Khurana release his land.Meanwhile Bunty convinces his father to use muscle power and hires some people to break the compound wall around his plot.As they are rejoicing over their victory at home, the cops come and arrest Khosla, This brings about a stream of corrupt officers to light starting from Police Officers, MP and Social Workers who demand money in some form or the other. Ultimately Khuranas own laweyer comes over and releases Khosla on bail.Khosla decides to give up on his land.Cherry mean while decides to carry on with his plans to move abroad and the travel agent starts probing into his problem and says that he could help him, Cherry just declines on this.

My thoughts about Phase 2

This portion was more emotional, quite painful to see a man who is put into prison even after he has genuine documents of owning a property.The helplessness and the thought of giving up the years of dreams and hard earned money to a wealthy creep.Boman Irani has played his part well, you would just love to hate this guy in this movie.

Phase 3

This is a Phase of action where Cherry decides to use his wits with Meghana he decides to confide in Asif, who reveals that he was working as a partner with Khurana and would like to take revenge as he had been cheated of his ansestoral plot. They decide to outsmart Khurana in his own game.Meghana ropes in (Naveen Niscol) Bapu  to pose as a Multimillionaire NRI who is escorted by(Nitish Pandey) acting as his Secretary. His confrontation with the Real Estate Agent and then with Khurana himself in the grand hotel room is commendable.But Khurana is smart and wants to see the plot himself, Asif has a plot in mind which is unused but belongs to the fisheries board.They manage to fool khurana into thinking that the NRI actually owns the plot.He surveys the plot but ultimately forgets to peek into the well which holds the identity to its true owners.

The first time the NRI doesnot take the money due to humility, where in everybody thinks they have lost the battle, where in they get a call and Khurana agrees to increase the rates, but wants to see the plot once again, This time the drama people have departed to bangalore and its time for the Khosla family to pitch in their act as workers on the plot, its is revealed how he desires to see the women working there and his cruel intentions.This time the secretary manages to grab hold of the suitcase loaded with 35 lakhs and brings home the bounty.

Khosla gives back 11 lakhs to Khurana infact giving back his own money,  and the rest is divided into 3 parts among asif, drama company and the khosla family.Meghana who is bugged with Cherrys desision patches up with him, Cherry promises not to go abroad.The scean ends with a three story bunglaw built on the plot and the name plate of the Khoslas.

My Thoughts about the Third Phase -

Its a phase which really sets  you into thinking do you really need to travel abroad for work, can you give up your loving home with caring parents and siblings, a little  will and determination can change your life, infact even destiny, you can win against all odds if you try to.

I loved the humor timing, Anupam Kher has done a great job hats off to him, Pravin Dabbas acting was a real treat I was wondering what this Peter England boy could do, Tara Sharma looks good as usual, Naveen Niscol has surprised me with sudden change of  character in this movie.Mrs Khosla(Kiron Juneja) has taken a very scilent role but always has a good word for her childern and protective about her daughter.Nitish Pandey has done a sensible role, only the suitcase grabbing role was funny.Vinay Phatak has been an opportunistic man, but proved to be a friend in need.Boman Irani has done true justice to the villan he played.
