This is my first droid phone and I am loving it very much, although there are some issues but still is a good performer and can beat any phone in the range of 5-10k.
Searching a droid phone was not that easy especially when every single day multiple cell phones are released. Before this I was using a very outdated but good phone and its was time to switch towards droid. But the main concern was the budget, as I was not working and the bill was to be obviously paid by my mom. After convincing her for around 3 days, she agreed on me buying a new cell phone. Its not that I upgrade myself with new cell phones that scares her from buying one for me, but the past I've had with my cell phones. Till date I've almost lost 4 phone, and that's what refrains my mom to buy me a new cell phone. After a lot of request to my mom she agreed and I breathed a sigh of relief. The quest for the best droid begins.......
Browsed through various sites, googled many cell phones, surveyed many people as well as asked reviews on various models, and after all of these I was introduced to KARBONN A11. This phone impressed me at its 1st sighting itself, the design and the aesthetics of the phone. It seemed something different from the others.
There were more high end smart phones too but this impressed me and it perfectly was in my budget. One thing that worried me was the brand name, as the market was captured totally by the SAMSUNG's APPLE's SONY's and recently MICROMAX too joined the league. But one thing that I was happy was that in comparison with micromax, karbonn has more service centers in Mumbai. One of the main aspects when we buy a phone is that whether are there enough service centers surrounding you when you need them? and the answer was YES
While karbonn was launching A21 which was humongous 4.7 inch screen, I rather preferred A11. I din't have a idea as to how would one carry a 4.7 inch screen mobile in their pocket?
So I preferred 480 x 800 pixels, 4.0 inches karbonn A11, which would fit my pocket also and my budget too. On the eve of new year I purchased this phone from a local retailer as I got a good discount on it.
I wanted to order it online, but it was not available online at the site which I normally trust and shop from.
I did the unpacking and was very excited to get my hands on them. Switched on the phone and then drained the battery till 0% and then charged it till 100%, as this procedure is being recommended by all the companies. It took me around 1 day to drain the 50% battery that was there in my cell, and I was very much happy looking at this.
Today its almost been three and half month I've been using this mobile, and my verdict till now is that its pretty good and a satisfied customer.
The sound and reception for calls is good, but when it comes to the headphones quality and quantity, both are not up-to the standards. I am not able to use it when I am travelling and the condition worsen up when the surrounding is noisy and crowded. Although the speaker is loud and fair enough.
I would rate it 6/10.
I found the style and design built well, and complemented the phone, it was love at 1st sight when I came across this phone. It's almost close to perfect when it comes to style and design and its build aesthetically well. I would rate it as 8/10.
My phone has fell at-least 5-6 times and till date there hasn't been major scratches nor damage to the phone, its quite robust and handling isn't a big issue. I would rate this feature as 8/10.
As this was my 1st droid, it obviously wasn't a cake walk. But the way its been designed din't confuse me at all and to say the least its systematic and isn't tedious from users point of view. I would rate this feature as 8/10.
These days smartphones are really smart and provide a wide range of features. Many in-built apps and stock OS makes it even more better for user. Even the 3G service is very impressive. Many in-built features that are being used everyday is being installed. In 7.6k what can one expect more? The range as per the cost was really worth noticing. I would rate it as 9/10.
It's a phone which is really worth for the money one pays, in around 7.5 the variety and the quality is really commendable and that's what made me buy this beauty. Build very well, smooth internet, smart and compact and in budget, hats-off karbonn.
Now comes the cons:
Over the three months, I haven't faced major problem but that does not deny the fact that the problem were at all negligible.
As I mentioned earlier, the headphones quality and quantity wasn't up-to the mark, obviously I am not expecting it to be as great as apple, but at-least better than what it is now.
Battery back-up is not that good, only the 1st day when I used my cell was I satisfied with my battery. I always play games on my cell, which drains my battery even more quicker. Without multimedia my battery lasts for at-least a day and half. And if I use multimedia it depends from 5-12 hrs and this includes using Internet too. And the charging takes too much time to get fully charged from 0-100%.
There is no radio for this phone, and radio lovers will hate this phone, but why need radio when one has music player? But wish there could be radio also in this phone.
The GPS is one thing that should be accurate and should be able to guide but I found the GPS in this case to be a bit misleading and not accurate. Maybe they had to sacrifice somewhere and so they sacrificed in these 4 departments.
And one more thing that I've noticed over the period of time is that the back of the phone gets heated soon.
Hopefully if karbonn releases a 2nd version of these mobile keeping in mind the cons, this can become the best seller.
