Kapilash, a well known place of Dhenkanal district of Orissa. Kapilash is quite familiar for Lord Shiv's temple and many times the place remains crowded especially during Mahashiv Ratri and during the month of Sawan. Since I am a resident of dhenkanal district and this fabulous place is just about 30km distance from my home, I regularly near about twice to thrice a year go visit to it.
Last time I had gone to this place on the occasion of new year celebration and picnic with my friends. Although I had gone in this new year, I generally go to this place in Shivratri. Generally buses are easily available to arrive at this place but I would rather prefer to go in four wheelers or bikes for our own privacy and freedom.
In this new year we decided to go over their by reserving a bus for our picnic. It was quite 20-25 km away from dhenkanal busstand. So we started our journey at 10am because of that we can easily return back before 5pm. We had reached at our destination at 11.00am and went out to visit the surrounding and temple.
There were two ways to reach at kapilash shiv temple one way through which vehicles can go and another by which only your foot can go, I mean through a ladder having more than 1200steps. But we chose to go by foot. We had visited a no. of small temples of different god and goddesses on the way. A small water fall was also coming from the top of hill and passed on the way of ladder. After completing all 1392 steps( as I count) we had reached to temple. The space occupied by the temple was quite large. There were a big shiv temple and small other temples. There was also another attraction namely Sitas entudisala. We had also got chance of seeing some wild animals, a lot of monkeys and a different kind of squirrel( red coloured giant in size about 70cm in length) .
There were also a deer park to visit and it was a kind of artificial livelihood place of some other animals. For your kind information I must like to say kapilash is famous for having a lot of monkey and you can be also a part of their fun.
There was another way to reach at temple by vehicles known to be Barabanka contains 12wide angle modes to reach at their. You can take all advantage of site seeing and hillside view by this way.
Other nearby attractions are Dattatreya and sagarmahal. Dattatreya, a temple of Saibaba is quite familiar to all people and contains a no. of attraction and activities to see. At last after visiting all these place we returned back and gathered at a place and took our feast and made antakshari. We had made a lot of fun on our journey.
I like a no. of things during my journey to this place;
( 1) it has amazing sites to see and a no. of attractions also available nearby it.
( 2) the roads are quite in very good conditions so no fearness to travel such place
( 3) it gives opportunity to see different type of animals which I had not ever seen
( 4) journey to this place is a complete adventurous
( 5) dearpark was quite fabulous as different kinds of deers are found there
But it had certain demerits as there were not available any hotels or restaurants to reside and have your meals. It has only one place where rice, dal and certain type ofcurry available as prasad.
In my last journey I had not reached to sita entudisala and in the next visit I must try to go there. I also want to hill climbing at this place.
I recommend everyone to visit such place and also visit all nearby place. There are a lot of place to visit nearby it. It is better to come such place during Magashivratri as you can see a lot of crowd and rising of Mahadeep of lord shiv. So collect blessings of lord shiv. Hope this post ever go in favour of you.
