When it comes to acting, all faces that appear on the silver screen are not actors. Actors must also act. This means, they have to do something else before acting. That is what he had communicated to the film industry, and doing it constantly.
He personifies acting. An Actor must be like him. He is the touchstone of acting, next only to Shivaji Ganesan (Who is an Actor even before he is born), can be proclaimed to the whole of world's film industry.
His works can never be compared with that of anybody in present Indian Film Industry. He dares to experiment (sometimes at the cost of producer's money, still, it is business). He is the only person who dares.
Presently, I am in Pune. I was here when Mangal Pandey released. Everywhere, I heard that Amir Khan is a perfectionist and all. I just was thinking what a kind of Hype is being given to him for that only one movie, in which he has grown long hair and little longer moustache. The guys haven't seen Kamal in some films like Hey Ram, in which he appears, in almost all lengths of hair and moustache. It is just only one movie, he has shown a lot of Variety.
If the guys from north, had seen at least 10% of Kamal's movies, they would not worship Amir so much. I still wonder why people call Amir Khan a perfectionist when he must done only 20-30 odd films. Amir's age is Kamal's experience in the film industry. Of course, he is the one of best actors in Bollywood, but it does not mean, he is the best actor in India. Bollywood is not Indian Cinema. It is one of the movie industries, producing hindi movies, like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannanda film industries. This passage is just for comparison.
He is incredible. He has done varieties from most humourous to most serious movies. His Comedy movies are the best, I can say, in Tamil movies. His MMKR (Michel Madana Kama Rajan) is his best. Next is Pancha Thanthiram. I have watched these two movies more than 200 times. They are amazing. Of course, the credit will equally go to Crazy Mohan too. He is terrific too.

and a lot more to say.
