It was really a nightmare!
We were on our way back to Bangalore in kallada A/C sleeper bus. In the middle of the night at around 2 am, when we were in deep sleep, we were asked to shift to another bus. We were somewhere near Erode. The driver told us the bus got some repair work and would take 3 hours. They had arranged another bus. I felt so great about Kallada. They care for us!:P.
To our surprise, there were travelers in the "backup" bus and they are being shifted to "our" bus.
Each bus's drivers and cleaners had different reasons for this shifting. But we came to know from the bus crew that our bus had tax issues to enter Karnataka and they do this "crossing"(They use the term crossing for shifting passengers) usually.
We were really annoyed to see our new bus was untidy. How can this be tidy? This is a sleeper bus, pillows and blankets were used by somebody else. Mixtures and food items were scattered on the berth. Crew said they didn't have backup sheets or blankets. With an uncontrollable A/C vent pouring chilled air on me, I had to clean up the berth and use a blanket used by somebody else a few minutes ago.:(
Another fellow passenger told us this was not the first time she faced this. So this was not just accidental.
Dear Kallada, please consider that we are traveling with small children and it is difficult to shift in the midnight. Secondly, when you plan such "crossing", please arrange backup pillow covers and blankets.
It was a really a bad experience with Kallada
