INTRODUCTION: KIIT, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, is a co-educational, autonomous university situated in the state of Odisha.
Brainchild of Dr.Achyuta Samanta, Pradyumna Bal, P.K Mishra, C.R Mishra, D.N.Dwivedy & B.N.Rath, it is one the youngest institutions to be awarded the status of a deemed university and is recognized as such by the Limca Book Of Records. Established in 1992, KIIT now offers under-graduate and post-graduate courses in Engineering, Biotechnology, Medicine, Management, Law, Computer application, Rural management, Fashion, Film Studies, Journalism and Sculpturing.
CAMPUS LIFE
The college provides a state-of-the-art campus for an all-round development of the student. The infrastructure provided is something to marvel at. Classes are held regularly and the classrooms are complete with projectors. Laboratories are well equipped and help us, students, understand the real-life problems better. A 24x7 library and the ever-ready teachers are all what a student can ask for. Exams are held on time and markings are fair and transparent. Students excel in the competitions held in, around and outside of the campus.
Besides the academics, KIIT also provides for the cultural and social development of its student. Keeping in view the number of students that belong to states other than Odisha, festivals like 'Chhath Puja' are celebrated with great pomp and show. The indoor stadium named 'Biju Pattnaik indoor stadium' serves as a healthy recreational place. Various societies like the music and dance society(KORUS), literary society(KRONICLE), the Kiit Robotics Society are a great hit amongst the students. The college annual techfest KRITANSH held in the month of February is what we students look forward to. The fest hones our technical as well as our soft skills. Technical skills are polished because, well, it is a technical fest, wherein we are asked to put our brains to use. Skills such as singing and dancing are acknowledged via the numerous competitions that form a small part of the tech fest. And ofcourse, who can ever miss out on the celebrations on the last day of fest, wherein celebrities like Ash king make students tap their feet to the upbeat numbers.
KIIT AND THE CELEBRATED SCIENCE CONGRESS
KIIT hosted one the most prestigious events that an institute can ever host. Yes, am talking about the Indian Science Congress. Eminent personalities like the Prime Minister, Dr.Manmohan Singh, former president Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam and more graced the occasions. It was definitely a treat to be a part of such a huge gathering with loads to see, learn and get inspired from.
THE AESTHETIC SIDE
Affiliated to KIIT is KISS(Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences) which offers educations to thousands of tribal children from KG to PG, free of cost.
