Kalimpong is one of the most beautiful places in north Bengal. When you enter the city by road, you feel like amazed by the natural beauty, enroute with the beautiful pine trees along the road, in between some small localities.
You are bound to be mesmerized. But once you enter the center of Kalimpong, your dream of entering a hill station gets shattered.
The center of the city is so dirty, clumsy, crowded you feel like leaving the place immediately. However the surrounding sightseeing's are really beautiful like the Delo park, the monasteries, etc.If you are planning to visit Kalimpong I would suggest you to stay out of the city. There are some beautiful resorts where you can enjoy your stay.
But never dare to stay in or around the central part of the city. Apart form this from Kalimpong you can also visit Lava, Loleygaon which are also 2 beautiful hill stations further up. It feels bad when you see that such a beautiful destination is been ruined due to ill maintenance/lack of proper planning.
